TEAM Industries is Hiring a Design Engineer I Near Bagley, MN

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Purpose: The Design Engineer role is a key member of our Product Development Team. Plan and perform assigned engineering tasks as required to support new product design and development, component and system level tests, data acquisition, material/process selection and adhere to project schedule. Utilize engineering judgment to establish necessary design actions and test criteria for mechanical and electromechanical projects of varying complexity. Frequently involves planning conferences, engineering schedule development, progress reports and project team updates. Participate in design review process and challenge design assumptions/configuration to ensure overall performance and reliability of final product.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

·Ensure a safe work environment for self and others. Follows all safety rules and regulations. Demonstrate commitment to safety program.

·Perform system and component-level design and analysis to support test instrumentation, controls, process specifications, material selections, and component designs associated with electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and thermal systems.

·Follows TEAM Product Development Procedures and best practices.

·Research and analyze the customer design proposal, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application.

·Gather data, generate reports and provide technical recommendations to guide design efforts and improve product features.

·Work collaboratively with project team to develop original design solutions.

·Conduct meetings with customers and vendors as appropriate to refine design criteria, present solutions, coordinate interactions and assure timely communication.

·Works closely with the Test Engineer to define requirements for testing products or systems.

·Coordinate or perform fabrication and installation activities to ensure components and systems conform to engineering design definition and customer specifications.

·Problem solve and discover solutions to unusual problems or applications. Anticipate possible design or test issues and develop contingency plans to minimize risk.

·Evaluate results of completed tests and recommend design modifications to eliminate component malfunctions or improve overall system performance.

·Keep current with industry standards regarding design procedures and equipment as they relate to TEAM Industries' products.

·Work collaboratively with the Project Team to establish the engineering product development schedule and communicate progress to Management Team

·Demonstrate commitment to the TEAM Industries Quality Management system and Objectives.

·Promote a positive atmosphere. Actively support activities that promote the welfare and morale of TEAM employees.

Level Specific Responsibilities:

·Design Engineer I: Transforms sound engineering principles and judgement into creative designs utilizing knowledge gained through education and guidance from mentors. May assist in tasks related to larger overall project or be asked to lead a project of the appropriate complexity. May participate in internal design reviews and observe external design reviews. Works closely for mentor and experienced staff.
