The Specialized Unit in the Central Office is seeking to hire a Criminal Investigator I. This investigator must be willing to travel throughout the State of Georgia. This position plans and conducts investigations in defense of clients charged with criminal offenses, including client interviews, evidence analysis, scene investigation, witness location and interviews, records collection, and background checks. This investigator must possess effective interview and interrogation techniques, as well as have knowledge of case management tools, techniques, technology, and software. This investigator must also demonstrate the knowledge to effectively conduct surveillance, use covert devices, and interview informants. The Investigator will work cooperatively and effectively in order to establish and maintain working relationships with attorneys, representatives of other agencies, clients, the public and co-workers to develop strong client relationships, defense theories, and evidence in support thereof. The investigator must demonstrate proficiency in the performance of the essential duties and responsibilities, as well as exercise sound judgment and decision-making.
