TDS Automation Inc is Hiring a Fluid Power Technician Near Waverly, IA

Description

Summary:

Assembles, installs, and repairs pipes, fittings, and devices of hydraulic/pneumatic systems, according to specifications on drawings and schematics. Employee is normally engaged in hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical assemblies and development of special machines.

Essential Functions:

  1. Assembles and installs hydraulic and pneumatic valves, gauges, accumulators, tubing and pipe fittings, hoses and hose fittings, and pipes.
  2. Bend pipe to required angle by use of pipe-bending machine, or by placing pipe over suitable forming blocks and bending it by hand.
  3. Study machine/system plans and working drawings to determine materials required and sequence of installation.
  4. Effectively interact with managers, supervisors, and hourly team members across all departments.
  5. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, talk and hear. The employee will also be required to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl. The employee should also have ample dexterity to handle fittings, screws/fasteners and tools.
  6. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. 
  7. Operates forklift trucks, cranes, and other powered material handling and transport equipment.
  8. Understands and complies with requirements of the QMS, AS9100, and/or ISO 9000. 
  9. Travels on an as-needed/required basis. 
  10. Additional duties as needed and assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications and Skills:

Preferred: 

  1. Associates Degree (AAS) in Industrial Automation Technology, or equivalent degree/certificate with minimum of two (2) years of relevant work experience OR minimum of four (4) years of relevant work experience in hydraulic and/or pneumatic applications. 
  2. Proficient skill in the use of normal hydraulic and pneumatic test equipment.
  3. Proficiency with hand and power pipe benders, hose fitting installation machines and other tools used in fabricating hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  4. Expertise in reading and interpreting blueprints, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics, and plumbing diagrams.
  5. Proficiency in shop mathematics including algebraic, geometric, and trigonometric functions.
  6. Operation of fork lift truck, cranes and other powered material handling and transport equipment.
  7. Knowledge of basic machine motion components and assembly techniques.
  8. Competence in computer applications.
