Overall Expectations or Position Purpose:

The Driver Manager is responsible for communicating all pertinent freight information to drivers in a region of assigned responsibility. Supervise and maintain equipment providing load capacity. Work directly with internal employees and manage expectations against operational capabilities. Employ a strategic approach by problem solving and develop corrective actions to enhance operational performance.

Essential Duties:

• Responsible for the supervision and management of a fleet of drivers, to assure proper and timely loading and delivery of products to customers.
• Assurance of compliance and administration of all reporting procedures and enforce all company policies and procedures.
• Responsible for fleet efficiency including driver productivity, miles, legal HOS, operation, availability, customer service and pre-planning performance.
• Assist with development of programs, procedures, and guidelines to help align the driver workforce.
• Interaction with outside freight vendors and coordination of scheduling requirements.
• Build relationships, solve issues, and assist customers and drivers with their individual needs.
• Will be required to make driver deliveries 2 days per week.

Job Requirements:

Operational Skills: This position requires an individual experienced in the movement of freight and driver relations. Will be required to make delivery drivers as well 2 days per week. We are looking for a fundamentally solid performer who is consistently able to facilitate multiple projects and remain productive under pressure.

Management: This position requires experience in managing and coaching others. Troubleshooting any issues with a driver pick up or delivery to ensure proper freight delivery.

Analysis: Coordinating with operational staff in order to receive maximum productivity from drivers while operating within company safety departments.

Communication: This position requires the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external customers; and the ability to confront and resolve performance or service issues with drivers and customers effectively.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must have Class B License

• 2 years related experience
• Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
• Familiarization with DOT and OSHA rules and regulations is a plus.
• Fleet management experience.
• Strong analysis and decision making skills.
• Superior customer service skills.
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
