Job Description:

TBG’s Regulatory and Nutrition team is looking for a highly qualified Regulatory and Nutrition Manager. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance of formulas, claims and labeling while playing a pivotal role in the innovation and launch process. You will manage a team of Regulatory and Nutrition Specialists and have the opportunity to interact regularly with other functions including but not limited to product development, marketing, purchasing, and legal.

Key Responsibilities:

The primary focus of this position is to provide regulatory and nutrition expertise to TBG’s brands including Tropicana, Naked Juice, KeVita, IZZE, and Dole. This includes creating ingredient statements, nutrition facts, substantiating complex claims and approving graphics that help consumers make informed choices about TBGs beverage products. You will also play an important role in claims substantiation including reviewing supplier data and internal claims requests. The position will involve working with a variety of R&D and cross-functional stakeholders, providing input on nutrition labeling, defining new claim territories, and managing packaging timelines.

The position includes managing Regulatory and Nutrition Specialists that requires an excellent understanding and application of US Food and Drug Administration and Health Canada regulations to assure the accuracy of ingredient statements, nutrition facts, allergen declarations and claims. As a Regulatory and Nutrition Manager, you must be able to think strategically as well as independently monitor, interpret, and ensure compliance with US and Canadian regulations today and into the future. This role provides support as a technical nutrition expert in our trade associations. Knowledge of Women, Infant and Children (WIC) programs, Dietary Guidelines, and other nutrition programs and research will be a part of this role.

Requirements:

• Minimum MS in Food and Nutrition. PhD is preferred.
• Registered dietitian nutritionist is preferred.
• 10 years regulatory/nutrition experience required, with strong knowledge of FDA and Health Canada food and beverage regulations.
• 5 years managing a team
• The position is based in Chicago, IL with three days in office. Typically, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. Conveniently located close to Chicago’s Union station in the Old Post Office.
• Solid proficiency with claims substantiation and demonstrated application to beverages or food
• Nutrition policy trade association experience
• Excellent computer skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Strong collaborating and influencing skills
• Ability to prioritize workload, balance multiple tasks, conduct calculated risk assessments and work independently
• Strong sense of urgency and commitment to meet aggressive timelines
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Products, Adobe, SAP-PLM including working in product specification, regulatory and/or product lifecycle management software.
• English required
