Key Responsibilities:

The Manager, Indirect Tax will assist the Global Head of Tax in managing Tropicana’s indirect tax activities as well as build the processes and structure necessary to develop and operationalize a world class indirect tax function capable of supporting the growth of this dynamic consumer products business. Reporting to the Global Head of Tax, the Manager, Indirect Tax, will lead the outsourcing relationships for completing and filing indirect taxes, as well as help build an efficient indirect tax structure and develop related key processes to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and laws. Indirect taxes include sales and use taxes, property taxes, beverage taxes, and bottle deposits. Role may include assistance with value added tax matters. 

Tropicana is seeking a tax professional who is a curious self-starter and interested in doing more than closing the books and compliance with regulations. The candidate will be excited about the opportunity to build the indirect function and then lead that function to provide actionable insights to the business.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Lead a team responsible for compliance of indirect taxes.
• Lead a team of external resources of Vertex (Sales and Use Tax) and George McElroy & Associates (Property Tax).
• Drive continued efficiency and simplification across Finance processes and provide critical direction and input to the development and design of new standalone systems.
• Research relevant tax matters.
• Oversee related tax audits.
• Respond to notices and other inquiries.
• Establish tax applicability based on location, sales, registration and delivery.
• Perform periodic reconciliations and forecasts.

Requirements:

• Self-directed, independent professional with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Undergraduate university degree required.
• 5 years of relevant professional experience in a medium to large corporate setting.
• Experience with ERP systems, such as SAP.
• Experience with CPG organization is a plus.
• Hands on, collaborative, proactive, transparent, urgent and able to deal with ambiguity.
• Overall analytical skills and reasoning abilities will characterize the most distinguished candidates.
