Scope of Position

The Golf Ranger ensures that courses are maintained, and all aspects of play run smoothly including directing the flow of traffic on the course, enforcing course rules and assisting guests with course etiquette. He/she will alert management regarding any concerns on the golf course and assist players as needed.

Position Requirements

• Professional demeanor appropriate for a luxury environment.
• Minimum 1 years related experience in a golf resort environment.
• Prior hospitality experienced preferred.
• Experience with a diversity of golf course operations: resort, semi-private.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• First Aid, and CPR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the on-course customer service specialist for the Resort.
• Enforce course rules and regulations.
• Promote the Resort’s golf programs and events facility.
• Demonstrate JW Marriott Miami Turnberry Resort & Spa service standards in all interactions and ensure guests have an enjoyable experience.
• Check with the golf shop for special instructions, such as cart paths only etc.
• Be in possession of the daily tee sheet and monitor for updates throughout the shift.
• Make sure all equipment; radios, carts, etc. are working correctly.
• Maintain accurate recordkeeping of the number of players daily.
• Communicate with the golf operations on a regular basis.
• Assist guests with any on-course concerns and alert appropriate supervisor if necessary.
• Assist in keeping the course and areas around the course clean.
• Notify Golf Operations Management of any maintenance concerns needing to be addressed.
• Keep players on the pre-determined pace-of-play schedule and report any problems to the Golf Operations.
• Be prepared for inclement weather (air horn, rain gear, etc.), understand bad weather procedures and communicate with Golf Operations during weather alerts as necessary.
• Perform any other reasonable duties as required by management.

Education

• High school diploma or GED.

Skills and Abilities

• Able to communicate in the English language. Second language is a plus.
• Able to work flexible schedules including holidays and weekends.
• Able to perform multiple tasks.
• Knowledge of the use of equipment/machinery.

Physical Requirements

• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Be physically fit to lift, pull, and push items up to 50 pounds.
• Also requires standing/walking/reaching and bending throughout shift.

Qualifications
