Tazewell County is Hiring an Environmental Health Supervisor (FT) Near Tremont, IL
- Plan, develop, evaluate, and provide input on health and environmental programs, policies, and activities.
- Implement and oversee multiple projects.
- Train, mentor, and assist environmental health employees including planning and monitoring workloads and reviewing completed work.
- Develop and ensure implementation of internal operating procedures, policies, and program guidelines.
- Prepare program reports and grant budgets.
- Provide compliance information, technical assistance, and advice to industry, the public, the media, and other agencies.
- Conduct routine and required inspections or audits.
- Perform other assigned tasks as required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Health OR Bachelor’s Degree with 30 hours of college science and 4-6 years’ experience in Environmental Health.
- 2 years’ supervisory experience in Environmental Health or related field.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Must be a licensed Environmental Health Practitioner with the State of Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
- Must be a Certified Food Protection Manager, Certified Food Protection Instructor and Proctor within 90 days of hire.
- Must be an IEPA certified landfill inspector within one (1) year of hire.
- Must take courses for NIMS compliance (Levels 100a, 200a, 300, 400, 700a and 800b).
