Job Description: Position Goals: The Rigging Superintendent is responsible for the planning and execution of all aspects of work performed by Taylor Crane & Rigging direct hire craft and subcontractors as assigned. Summary: Supervising and directing operations for assignment of all equipment including cranes, versalifts, and forklifts. Supervises and directs all operator activities as assigned. Responsible for all on-site rigging activities to ensure needs are met in a timely and profitable manner. Responsibilities:
Ensure all assigned personnel adhere to rules, regulations and procedures including SAFETY and compliance.
Addressing any safety/operational concerns as they arise in a timely manner.
Appointing qualified signal person(s) for job sites who are properly trained and certified in rigging.
Ensure that on site crews are taking any/all necessary precautions when implementing special lifting operations and are adhering to predetermined lift plans.
Determine manpower, rigging, tools, equipment, and material requirements.
Optimize the use of construction equipment and tools on the project.
Coordinating subcontractors’ material movement and equipment activities as required.
Align, level, and anchor machinery and assures that lifting gear is inspected prior to use.
Assures that all lifts are within load limits of equipment and correctly rigged.
Attach loads to rigging to provide support or prepare them for moving, using hand and power tools.
Attach pulleys and blocks to fixed overhead structures such as beams, ceilings, and gin pole booms, using bolts and clamps.
Control movement of heavy equipment through narrow openings or confined spaces, using chain falls, gin poles, gallows frames, and other equipment.
Responsible for slings, cables, straps, and the crane prior to lifting operations.
Select gear such as cables, pulleys, and winches, according to load weights and sizes, facilities, and work schedules.
Requirements & Skills
5-10 years heavy rigging experience
Advanced Rigger
Must have knowledge of Machinery Moving
Must be willing to travel
Must pass drug test, fit-for duty test and background check
Must have knowledge of Rigging or Crane Operation. Certifications preferred.
Critical thinking and high level of problem solving skills
Planning and organizing, Stress Management, Communication & Conflict Resolution skills
Valid Class A Drivers License
Working Conditions: Primarily boots on the ground, shop and office position. Will be required to make trips to worksites.
