The work you’ll do

Are you entrepreneurial minded, comfortable operating in ambiguity, and enjoy a fast-paced environment? Working directly with TAG’s Sales & Marketing and Client Success teams, the ideal candidate for this role thrives researching and solving complex problems and wearing multiple hats. This candidate is business minded, able to understand the ‘big picture’ and articulate that vision while also sharing the business value of TAG to our current client base. Through these efforts, the successful candidate will articulate and document complex ideas in a simple manner to support ongoing client conversations designed to nurture and expand client relationships with the goal of driving additional revenue (i.e., market share expansion with current clients).

Role description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Client Development Specialist to join a collaborative, dynamic, and diverse team within the Tax and Professional Services industry. This position will be responsible for researching and developing materials to support ongoing conversations with TAG clients, articulating the value TAG delivers each day for the client, and the opportunity for increased value we see by expanding the client footprint with TAG. This role is unique in its purpose to cross-functionally ensure a world-class, client-centric business development experience, aimed at facilitating and driving client expansion.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leads business development operations activities alongside the Client Success leadership team
    • Identifies opportunities and builds a strategy and roadmap to progress the opportunities efficiently with the team
    • Provides oversight of CRM system (Salesforce) with the Client Success team to ensure all opportunities and actions are tracked accurately
  • Leads efforts to support ongoing client business review discussions
    • Creates an efficient repeatable process for building annual and quarterly business review materials
    • Articulates client value in opportunities for expanded services and increased footprint discussions
    • Collaborates with functional leads within Client Success and Sales & Marketing to develop and deliver effectively
  • Prepares and/or supports development of presentation decks for client conversations which drive client acquisition, retention, and/or expansion in alignment with other external business development activities
  • Analyzes and synthesizes client feedback and/or market trends to create compelling and impactful materials to support client conversations; this effort includes industry insights and trends from market appraiser information (i.e., industry whitepapers)
  • Provides regular updates on client expansion results and open opportunities, and any other projects underway, to company leadership and other stakeholders
  • Collects and organizes key data elements, standard slides / charts, etc. in partnership with sales and marketing to better enable efficient processes within both Client Success and Sales & Marketing teams
  • Develops simple to digest written and visual content which communicates complex and/or technical information in an easy-to-understand manner
  • Liaises with other departments and subject matter experts to influence sales enablement internally
  • Assists with development and execution of sales activation plans to drive new business and increase client engagement
  • Assists with sales and marketing projects related to brand awareness and business development
  • Tracks best practices and performance metrics around proposals
  • Performs other duties as assigned


Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent relevant work experience in a similar consultative role
  • 3 years’ experience in similar role, preferably in a large company or cross-functional role
  • Experience in a Business Consulting / Professional Services firm responding to RFPs and/or supporting white paper efforts is a plus
  • A deep understanding of the sales process and how to drive success.
  • Experience working with / for executive-level C-suite leaders to deliver against the role’s responsibilities
  • Demonstrated strong project management and administration skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of sales and marketing CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce), Smartsheet, marketing automation and ways of working
  • Digital experience with an understanding of lead generation strategies a plus


Requirements

  • Attention to detail and high accuracy required (portfolio sample will be requested post phone-screen)
  • High proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) required
  • Experience working in Canva preferred
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas in a simple and digestible manner, both verbally and in writing to audiences with little technical knowledge
  • Good hands-on, technical skills, as well as experience delivering process-based functional improvements
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to effectively interact with and influence multiple stakeholder groups and senior management
  • CRM experience including Salesforce
  • Superior communication and organization skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills with an emphasis on navigating complex scenarios and/or ambiguous context
  • Case studies may be used during the interview process to gauge degree of ability to communicate in a presentation format (e.g., PPT)
  • Demonstrated team-player who has experience of and has enjoyed collaborating across teams to deliver results
