Tatra Solutions, Inc. is Hiring a Technical Instructor (FAA ) Near Oklahoma, OK

BACKGROUND

The FAA is looking for support to provide for Instructional Services for FAA’s Academy Technical Operations Training Division, (AMA-400) at Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center, Oklahoma. Instructors will deliver, develop, and revise technical training in one or more of the following technical areas: Environmental Systems; Radar; Automation; Navigational Aids; Communications, Weather, and Information Systems. The curriculum will revolve around training technicians and engineers on specific maintenance and repair techniques to obtain equipment certification or be responsible for working on these systems. The curriculum generally consists of lectures followed by laboratory exercises to allow for monitoring the student’s ability to demonstrate proficiency.

This is a five (5) year full-time contract position with benefits available (e.g., medical, dental, vision, 401k, life insurance and AD&D). The position is located at Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center FAA Academy, 6500 South MacArthur Blvd. Oklahoma City, OK 73169.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Instructors will provide the instructional delivery of technical training for those courses managed by the FAA Academy Technical Operations Training Division (AMA-400). This includes theoretical and practical training in one or more subjects on assigned NAS equipment and systems for field technical experts installing, maintaining, repairing, and certifying such equipment and systems. All technical instruction is done in accordance with FAA training standards, policies, and guidelines such as, but not limited to, the latest versions of FAA Order 3000.57, Air Traffic Organization Technical Operations Training and Personnel Certification Programs. Contract instructors may also be required to collaborate with FAA subject matter experts (SMEs) to revise and maintain course materials.

The instructors will:

  • Conduct student orientation on the first day of class as indicated on the Student Orientation Briefing slides or other provided media.
  • Take initial roll call, indicating any changes and notifying the appropriate FAA office regarding any No Shows.
  • Maintain a class roster.
  • Submit final grades to the appropriate FAA office.
  • Identify the need for additional classroom resources and communicate these needs to the appropriate FAA office.
  • Propose recommendations for improvements to the appropriate FAA office based on class outcomes.
  • Present any class-related issues or concerns (i.e., discipline, proficiency, etc.) to the appropriate FAA office.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must be a U.S. Citizen

Education: Must meet one of the following:

  • Engineering or Technology degree from an accredited College or University or vocational certificate
  • Government, Private Sector, or military-specific training on the same or similar NAS system(s).

Experience: Must have at least four (4) years in any combination of the following:

  • a) Technical (hands-on): Government or Private Industry Electrical Engineering, Electronics Technology, Electro-Mechanics Technology, Information Systems.
  • b) Instructional: Government or Private Industry Electronics Technology or Mechanical Electronics Technology.

Preferred Specialized FAA Systems Experience: Two (2) years of working or instructing experience in at least one (1) of the following designated FAA specialty areas:

  • Radar
  • Navigation
  • Communication
  • Power/Environmental
  • Weather
  • Information/Automation Systems
