Food / Baking company in Melrose Park, IL is looking for a Production Supervisor - Bakery. They have 1st, 2nd and 3rd Shift Production Supervisor roles open at this time.

Bakery Processing food manufacturing environment experience is required.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsibilities:

Operations of all packaging lines under the supervisor of the shift supervisor.

• Supervises and coordinates activities such as work procedures, employee rotation, work schedules and attendance
• Evaluates and recommends employees for hire or termination
• Coordinates with management to assure production activities are as efficient as possible
• Enforces company safety, break & lunch policies
• Actively seeks to resolve any concerns while adhering to the company policy and standards of behavior
• Tracks and communicates employee performance and provides disciplinary / corrective action as needed
• Train and coach other operators and line employees to maintain high efficiency with minimal down time
• Coordinates with management to assure production activities are as efficient as possible
• Ensures all packaging equipment is in operational condition
• Establishes tasks for employees to ensure a clean workplace
• Documents down time and lost efficiency
• Ensures quality guide lines for products are followed
• Enforces all FDA and company guidelines
• Assists with Continuous Improvement
• Maintains LOTO certification
• Reviews and assists with all quality control documents
• Ensures Food Safety of Production
• Communicates with all cross functional shift activities from other shifts to operations team on a daily basis
• Performs miscellaneous duties as required by management

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

• Experience working in a supervisory or team lead Production (supervisory) role.
• Must have Food industry background
• Bakery Processing food manufacturing environment with at least two years of supervisory leadership experience needed.
• Must have experience in giving direction to employees and operating and diagnosing equipment
• Must be able to communicate with both direct report employees and management
• Must have understanding of FDA guide lines and company policies. Mathematical skills
• Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred but not a requirement.
