TASBO is Hiring a Special education assistant Near Arlington, TX

The Special Education Teaching Assistant will :

  • Serve students with disabilities in the general education and special education resource classrooms at the academy : help with assignments, manage behavior, etc.
  • Additional duties may be included, depending on the experience and expertise of the candidate and the specific academy needs.

Qualifications :

  • Education : Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Valid Educational Aide level I, II, or III certification in the state of Texas preferred
  • Knowledge of upper school subject area(s) preferred (math, reading, science, history)

Experience :

  • Experience working with students
  • A documented history of working well with children in a 1 : 1 or small group setting
  • A documented history of working well with students with disabilities preferred
  • Work experience as a teacher, teaching assistant, or aide in a school serving K-12th grade students preferred

Special Knowledge / Skills :

  • Ability to work with children with disabilities
  • Ability to help students access our rigorous curriculum
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of general office equipment
