Job Summary and Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Executive Vice President of Strategy, the Outside Sales Representative ensures the best possible customer experience, you will provide complete and appropriate solutions for every customer in order to boost top-line revenue growth, customer acquisition levels and profitability. Tasks include, but are not limited to the following:
· Independently identify, generate, and close new sales opportunities through both inside and outside sales
· Procure capacity and foster relationships with carrier partners
· Maintain updated and current records of accounts through TMS
· Manage all aspects of account management for transportation brokerage accounts
· Willingness to collaborate within brokerage team
· Present and sell company products and services to new and existing customers
· Prospect and contact potential customers (Phone, email, and in person visits)
· Maintaining positive business relationships to ensure future sales
· Reach agreed upon sales targets
· Resolve customer inquiries and complaints
· Negotiating all contracts with prospective clients
· Set follow-up appointments to keep customers aware of latest developments
· Build and develop a thorough understanding of logistics and 3PL industry
· All other duties assigned by management
Skills and Qualifications:
· Minimum of 5 years’ experience required
· Proven work experience as a Sales Representative
· Highly motivated and target driven with a proven track record in sales
· Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of both customer and carrier’s organizations
· Strong negotiation skills
· Problem solving and strong organizational skills with attention to detail
· Ability to work independently as well as in a group setting
· Relationship management skills and openness to feedback
· Must have excellent phone and email communication skills and ability to multitask and assist clients after hours.
· Solid understanding of MS Office, Windows, and basic business software
