Description

 The Master Scheduler gathers data from internal teams to incorporate materials, inventories, resource availability, and delivery commitments into schedules. Develops, prepares, and maintains production schedules to guide production activities and resources that achieve maximum efficiency and meet output and timeline objectives. Being a Master Scheduler II utilize ERP systems, planning and scheduling software, and other database tools to develop and maintain master schedules and generate reporting. Monitors daily production results and revises scheduling responses to changes in the flow of materials, designs, equipment, or other resources. Provide Purchasing and Manufacturing with timely and accurate information with a focus on supporting production schedules and priorities to meet overall planning objectives. This employee will work under limited supervision and have significant responsibility for the efficiency of operations. 

  • Lead master scheduling activities for in-house and third-party manufacturing.
  • Review schedules to determine material, labor, and equipment requirements. 
  • Ensure materials are available according to schedules.
  • Communicate with Supply Chain personnel to resolve potential or realized material issues/shortages.
  • Communicate with Manufacturing managers, and supervisors and resolve potential or realized labor issues/shortages.
  • Supports the timely introduction of new products and processes. Schedule and lead required cross-functional efforts to ensure that new product/component production and/or implementation of engineering changes are achievable and in line with the Master Schedule
  • Communicate timely and accurate material or production issues that affect scheduled production activities.
  • Work with management to develop inventory strategies based on product supply needs and inventory management objectives. 
  • Ensure a controlled flow of materials timed to meet production requirements.
  • Ensure that the status of work in progress, equipment, materials, and services are communicated to the appropriate departments.
  • Ensure production priorities are matched to customer requirements and communicate any late deliveries. 
  • Interact with quality assurance, materials, manufacturing, and engineering to ensure product movement meets delivery requirements.
  • Develop additional reporting tools to monitor the successful completion of selected metrics.
  • Produce reports that evaluate plant capacity and identify areas where improvements can be implemented.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

 Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience 

Experience: 

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a production, purchasing, or supply chain role in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience coordinating with third-party manufacturers is strongly preferred. 
  • Experience scheduling for large automation equipment preferred
  • Long- and short-term capacity planning is preferred.
  • ERP/MRP systems experience required. 

Additional Qualifications: 

  • The ability to analyze data, find meaningful insights, and note important trends
  • Strong computer skills, with Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a proven ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with internal customers and third-party suppliers
  • Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional departments
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience developing SOPs (standard operating procedures)
  • Thorough understanding of company products.
  • Experience purchasing raw materials and/or indirect goods a plus
  • Experience sourcing international and domestic goods.
  • Strong analytical, forecasting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to meet tight deadlines. 
  • Proficiency in planning and prioritizing work
  • Effective time management, organization, and multi-tasking skills
