Targa Resources is Hiring a Pipeline technician Near Watford, ND

JOB FUNCTIONS AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Locate and mark facilities per company damage prevention program and one-call procedures prior to and during encroachments and excavation.
  • Perform pipeline patrols, population density surveys, leak detection surveys and inspections per company procedures.
  • Responsible for providing oversight and inspection of projects primarily relating to excavation near pipeline facilities to ensure asset protection and compliance with company procedures.
  • Replacing or installing line markers
  • Responsible for inspection of projects.
  • Responsible for completion of all required documentation such as site photographs, project tickets and as-built drawings.
  • Perform mapping, record keeping, and data entry duties per company policies.
  • Act as the company representative during construction activities, report progress to operations and project manager to ensure proper reporting and compliance with safety and environmental policies.
  • Perform governmental compliance activities (PHMSA, State Agencies, etc.)
  • Actively participate in safety programs and initiatives.
  • Participate in the development of O&M Procedures, site specific procedures, project scope and work plans.
  • Abide by all damage prevention programs including one-calls, right of way inspections and investigations, maintenance, and third-party crossings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Represent the Company during contacts with landowner / tenants, public officials / emergency officials and at local meetings.

MINIMUM ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Minimum of 1 year of related work experience in gas or crude operations
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license to include a safe driving record satisfactory to the company
  • Interpersonal communication skills are required to interface with all affected teams, personnel, and vendors; able to work in a self-directed work team
  • Must be proficient in the use of all Microsoft Office software modules, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and others
  • Must work with a minimum of supervision and be able to manage their time when given multiple tasks
  • Regular and reliable attendance
  • Use of line locating equipment
  • Map reading
  • Understanding of pipeline construction techniques and practices
  • Understanding of Environmental and PHMSA Regulations preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS :

  • Ability to lift, push, and pull 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in changing climate conditions and a plant environment.
  • Able to work in close quarters : i.e., work while kneeling, squatting, sitting, climbing, and standing.
  • Follow and adhere to all applicable Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines (ex : eye protection, footwear, Nomex).
  • The employee frequently is required to stand, walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Must be able to withstand extreme weather and temperature climates
  • Ability to navigate uneven surfaces to and from vehicle and site work, line patrol requiring walking distances up to miles in all terrains, in all types of weather.
