We are seeking a skilled and passionate Taquero to join our team. The Taquero will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and serving a variety of authentic Mexican tacos in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Mexican cuisine, excellent culinary skills, and a dedication to delivering high-quality food and customer service.
Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook a variety of tacos according to traditional Mexican recipes.
- Ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly portioned, and prepared to the highest standards of quality and hygiene.
- Operate kitchen equipment such as grills, stoves, and fryers effectively and safely.
- Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation and delivery of orders.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including proper storage and handling of food products.
- Uphold food safety and sanitation standards at all times, following proper procedures for food handling, storage, and preparation.
- Adapt to changing customer preferences and dietary restrictions, offering suitable options and modifications as required.
- Collaborate with team members to maintain a positive and efficient work environment.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Taquero or in a similar role, preferably in a Mexican restaurant or food truck setting.
- Extensive knowledge of Mexican cuisine, particularly tacos, and familiarity with variations and ingredients.
- Strong culinary skills, including proficiency in cooking techniques such as grilling, frying, and sautéing.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, multitasking and prioritizing tasks to meet customer demand.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact positively with customers and team members.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation, and cleanliness.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Must have Food handler's certification.
- Must be at least 17 years of age.
- Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects.
- A passion for food and a genuine desire to deliver exceptional dining experiences to customers.
