Tantus Technologies is Hiring a Remote Enterprise Architect

Overview:
Tantus Technologies, Inc. (Tantus) - recognized by the Washington Post as a Top Workplace - is seeking a Enterprise Architect with architecture alignment and practice development experience to support our federal client in Washington, DC. This position will work directly with the federal enterprise architect to implement an enterprise architecture practice based on an enterprise architecture framework and establish governance practices and technology standards. This individual will be a tenacious thought leader able to draw from their experience and knowledge to advise and guide the federal client in achieving their short and long term IT and business strategic goals.
*This position requires either U.S. Citizenship or Green Card holder status. Additionally, the candidate must be eligible to secure a Public Trust Clearance.*
What You'll Do:
Support the client’s Enterprise Architecture practice and the Architecture Review Board (ARB) functions and duties.
  • Provide architectural vision to appropriately align IT to strategic business needs. Maintain an ongoing partnership with the client business/IT to apply in-depth knowledge of the business operations, strategies, priorities, and information requirements to establish the technical direction and an enterprise view.
  • Lead the development, tailoring, and enhancement of enterprise architecture frameworks, methods, and tools. Ensure the alignment and integration of enterprise architecture processes and deliverables with those of other architecture and SDLC disciplines. Lead the development of enterprise architecture communications and education material for use with business and technical stakeholders or partners. Prepare and publish formal architecture documents, produce architecture development plans, and reports, and present staff actions to customers (e.g., white papers, briefings). Lead Enterprise architecture tool research, provide support in selection, implementation, and maintenance.
  • Provide oversight for development, review, approve, and maintain enterprise/solution architecture blueprints, roadmaps, and high-level designs. Analyze pain points and opportunities that transcend business areas and propose enterprise strategies or solutions. Provide oversight and ensure the quality of reusable architecture patterns and reference models. Ensure alignment across architecture and business domains and traceability to business and IT strategy.
  • Ensure appropriate technical standards and procedures are well defined. Manage the development of centers of excellence around key technologies. Establish programs to focus technology research within the division into a cohesive research plan. Ensure best practices are adhered to in the adoption of innovative technologies. Research, evaluate, and select from existing and emerging technologies the options best fitting business and IT strategic needs. Lead efforts to catalog and share research results related to current vs. future architecture states.
  • Proactively recommend courses of action to maintain cost effectiveness and competitiveness. Establish technical rationale and business case for infrastructure changes. Determine whether a solution architecture variance from standards should be approved, recommended for approval, or rejected. Enforce and report all variances to technology directions and standards as needed.
  • Represent Enterprise/Solution Architecture and provide thought leadership in solution architecture peer reviews and architecture governance forums. Ensure that IT portfolio decisions provide business value and optimize business value and total cost of ownership.
  • Provide guidance to enterprise/solution, domain, and solution architects to ensure that solution architectures align with IT strategies and enterprise blueprints, standards, and guidelines. Research, develop, document, and analyze enterprise architectures (including business, enterprise information environment, intelligence processes, and IT) to identify mission capability gaps, overlaps, and shortfalls.
  • Represent Enterprise/Solution Architecture in the identification and evaluation of solution alternatives.
  • Assess projects for architecture impacts in support of annual planning, and alignment with IT strategy and enterprise/solution architecture. Provide regular reporting on progress, issues, and opportunities related to enterprise/solution architecture.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
  • Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 10 years of overall relevant experience with 3 of those years serving as a Solutions Architect w/experience in multiple Domain Architecture or Solutions Architecture and leading multiple business facing enterprise level architecture efforts.
  • Expertise with technical domain (Cloud, DEVSECOPS, Micro Services, API management, Data strategy, Security, etc.) architecture related architecture frameworks (TOGAF, FEAF), methods, and tools (MEGA HOPEX, LEAN IX, SPARKS).
  • Experience with DevSecOps tool stack (GitHub, Ansible, SonarQube, Jenkins, etc.)
  • Experience leading projects pertaining to AWS, Azure, DevSecOps, and software development.
  • Experience with designing solution design patterns for enterprise reusability.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce and intelligent automation tools
Abilities:
  • Ability to collaboratively participate in large scale multi-disciplined projects.
  • Effective leadership, organizational, interpersonal/relationship management, analytical, communications (written and verbal) and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with stakeholders with evaluating and recommending emerging technologies to build IT roadmaps and plans for future implementations.
  • Demonstrate ability to participate and facilitate decision making and anticipate organizational needs.

  • Experience using the Atlassian Tools Suite (Jira and Confluence)
  • Federal government agency work experience
  • PMP and/or Agile Certification
