Chief of Guest EngagementThe Opportunity
The Tanganyika Wildlife Park is searching for a Chief of Guest Engagement to help the park continue to grow and serve their community in while developing into a new wildlife experience. The right person will primarily be focusing on developing the Guest Engagement department to elevate guest experience, as well as assisting with the transformation of the park into a day resort model and the adaptation of the department.
This role was will be overseeing many of our employees, both full time and seasonal, as well as the supervisors of the Guest Engagement department. They will be responsible for meeting and improving revenue goals, guest satisfaction and membership retention. This role is critical to the organization as the guest engagement team is the largest in our park — this person will be relied on heavily during the transition to a day resort model. Specifically, the interactive activities, guest services and events, retail, membership, and most importantly the culinary and consumable departments will need to be updated to accommodate the new all inclusive park model.

About The Company
On August 2 of 2008 Tanganyika Wildlife Park officially opened with 15 exhibits and three interactive areas. Over the past eight years, we have grown into the third largest animal collection in Kansas, and one of the largest attractions in the state. We have over 40 exhibits featuring 10 interactive stations, over 400 animals and 37 successful breeding programs.
Our hard work, dedication and passion to be stewards for animals in our care and in the wild have allowed us to be a world leader in breeding rare and endangered species at our family owned zoo.

What the Role Entails
The following are detailed performance objectives for the Chief of Guest Engagement. When measuring overall aptitude and cultural fit, all candidates will be benchmarked using these standards.
Performance Objectives:
• 90 Days: Listen and Learn; learn about the departments you’ll be overseeing and get to know the staff at a deeper level. Learn CRM system to familiarize with customer feedback and member feedback. Work towards quarterly revenue goal and begin improving the guest service department as the park transitions.
• 180 Days: Execute on current processes, further develop relationships with current employees. Collect scorecard and customer feedback information to make changes when necessary. Ensure that coordinators are executing core engagement and safety/care practices. Check reports and ensure that they’re being completed correctly and on time.
• 365 Days: Help execute a successful transition to an all-inclusive animal experience destination, especially in regards to the culinary and hospitality aspects.
