The Department of Employee Health Services at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Assistant Director of Nursing/Nurse Practitioner. The successful candidate will:
* Independently evaluate and triage/treat, including writing prescriptions, patients coming to the Student & Employee Health Services office.
* Discuss cases with on-duty physician when appropriate.
* Provide appropriate patient education as required.
* Perform pre-employment physical examinations on all new hospital employees, in compliance with the New York State 405.3 health code. This may include, when necessary, performing history, TB, mask-fitting, administration of vaccines, drawing blood, PPD placement/reading/Quantiferon Gold testing.
* Work closely with the Director of Employee Health Services.
* Work with physicians to provide primary medical care, including emergency care for employees.
Required Qualifications:
* Master of Science Degree in Nursing.
* New York State Registered Nurse Licensure with Certification as a Nurse Practitioner (NP).
* BCLS and ACLS certification.
* Evidence of participation in ongoing education.
