Tandy Leather Factory is Hiring an Executive Assistant/ Corporate Office Manager Near Fort Worth, TX

Overview of the Position

The Executive Assistant provides direct, daily support to the CEO, some administrative support to the Executive Leadership Team, and acts as an office manager for the corporate office. This role reports directly to the CEO but will work cross-functionally, collaboratively and with little CEO oversight with virtually all of the corporate office staff. A successful person in this role is the hub of much of the fast-paced activity of our business and a critical partner to the CEO – “I'm on it!” is the catchphrase of this job. This person must be able to operate and tackle with enthusiasm, professionalism and attention to detail issues both high and low – from working with the Board of Directors to ordering office supplies. Although the official duties are detailed below, this is a person who becomes valuable because s/he jumps in where there is a need and gets it done. This can be a career EA position or a stepping-stone to a career path role within the Tandy organization.

Main Responsibilities

  • Daily Support for the CEO (and some other executives on occasion)
    • Calendar – manage a busy Outlook calendar, understand and juggle priorities with some autonomy; own Corporate-wide calendar events such as Town Hall, Senior Team meetings, offsite meetings.
    • Travel – plan, arrange and book travel, including some international, for the executive team that is traveling. Create and update itineraries and provide helpful resource information for the trips.
    • Expenses – track and report the CEO’s expenses.
    • Email Management – help organize and prioritize CEO’s inbox, occasionally answer emails, and manage some outgoing emails to the whole organization.
  • Office Supplies/Furniture/Offices. Manage office supplies, furniture, equipment and fixtures for the Corporate office including maintaining and ordering. Work with the VP of HR to assign offices, manage allocation of space, remodel to meet our evolving needs. Manage all spend to the budget.
  • Board of Directors. Manage Board-related activities including supporting scheduling of meetings and calls, working with the CEO and General Counsel to manage the broader Corporate calendar, maintaining minutes and other Board documents, managing the Board DropBox, and supporting the CEO, General Counsel and CFO on distribution of materials to the Board. Support the General Counsel in planning and executing the Annual Stockholder’s Meeting in June. Plan and manage any meals, travel or other requirements for Board meetings. Manage and submit Board expenses for reimbursement.
  • Online Resources. Work with the CFO and General Counsel to manage the Investor Relations website including directing inquiries to the right parties. Support all functional areas in maintaining and improving the intranet site on SharePoint, including taking primary responsibility for information related to the Fort Worth facility.
  • Employee Events/Relations. Plan and execute regular employee recognition lunches/events and community engagement including seasonal activities such as food drives, bi-monthly lunches, baking contests, and twice-yearly inventory activities. Manage spend of all of these activities to the budget.
  • Events. Take primary responsibility for working with a broader team to execute Town Hall events, Annual Shareholder events (if any), offsite meetings for senior team members, corporate charitable activities and other ad hoc events.


Essential Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of prior work experience in an administrative role, preferably in a professional setting working with senior executives
  • High-levels of maturity, discretion and professionalism and proven ability and experience in dealing with highly confidential and sensitive information
  • Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Office skills – Mac and Windows – including OneNote, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive and the usual Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Strong aptitude for broader technology tools such as Zoom, iPhone, Ring, security systems, Concur
  • Highly organized, able to set priorities, attention to detail, strong multi-tasker
  • Resourceful, strong sense of initiative and ownership, collaborative team player
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills
  • Highly desired: current Notary Public or willingness to become one
