ABOUT THE ROLE

Tandem AI is seeking an experienced Senior Front End Engineer to join our growing Web Applications team in our NYC office. You will actively contribute to front-end and back-end initiatives for our cutting-edge computational platform. The candidate, experienced in building scientific web applications, will work to create a state-of-the-art client-facing molecular design web application that seamlessly integrates TandemAI’s physics-based computational drug discovery platform (Note: the candidate must be able to commute to our NYC office twice a week). 

You will:

• Work closely with stakeholders and a multidisciplinary team of computational and medicinal chemists, data engineers, biophysicists, and biologists to write and maintain clean, robust code for a world-class computational drug discovery web application.
• Discuss and make technical design and architecture decisions.
• Review code developed by team members and provide feedback to ensure best practices.
• Ensure long-term maintainability and consistent performance of deployed software through creation and upkeep of automated tests.

QUALITICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computational Chemistry, or related quantitative fields with 3-5 years professional web development experience
• Demonstrated track record of developing scientific web applications using React
• Full Stack experience a plus, but proven Front End experience (within a scientific environment) is necessary 
• Experience with REST API design and service layer architecture.
• Experience with cheminformatics and data science
• Experience with computer-aided drug design and physics-based simulation a plus, but not required
