·Providesdirect, clinically competent, medical care in an ambulatory setting thatincludes examinations, evaluations, diagnoses, treatment, follow-up,consultations, and health education for patients within scope of expertise andin accordance with the appropriate organizations.
·Prescribesand/or administers recommended therapies, medications and other specializedmedical care to treat or prevent illness, disease, or injury, to includereferring clients to specialists and/or other medical providers, asnecessary/appropriate.
·Monitorsthe condition and progress of all Behavioral Health and re-evaluates treatmentplans as necessary and appropriate.
·Educatespatients and their caregivers regarding health and illness prevention as wellas recommend resources to meet their needs.
·Instructspatients and caregivers regarding medications and treatment instructions.
·Adheresto established clinical protocols and procedures.
·Supervisesor participates in patient emergencies as required.
·Participatesin after-hours phone call rotation for Behavioral Health.
·Performs all functionsand responsibilities based upon Tandem Health's policies and procedures;guidelines of applicable board certifying entities.
·Maintainscomplete medical records in the established chart.
·Observesall infection control procedures.
·Followsestablished health center procedures for patient billing and reimbursement.
·Participatesin quality assurance and other committee activities as assigned.
·Reportsany discrepancies, irregularities, and/or violations involving clinical care,administrative procedure, billing issues or other protocols to the appropriatepersonnel.
·Maintainsprofessional competence by completing appropriate specialty requirements ofCME.
·Maintainscurrent certifications.
·Attendsrequired meetings and participates in committees as assigned.
·Maintainsstrictest confidentiality.
·Participatesin professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations.
·Successfullycompletes Tandem Health credentialing and privileging upon hire, and re-privileging,as required.
·FulfillsHRSA and health center productivity standards.
·Participatesin staff medical education programs and patient health educational activitiesas required.
·Performsother duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:
·Successfulcompletion of medical school at a four (4) year accredited institution; receiptof a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic (D.O.) degree
·M.D./D.O.licensure in the state of South Carolina
·Successfulcompletion of a residency training program in Psychiatry
·Currentboard certification or board-eligible with the American Board of Psychiatry andNeurology (ABPN)
·Three(3) years of experience beyond residency preferred.
·CurrentCPR certification required
·Eligibleto participate with Medicare and Medicaid agencies and other 3rdparty insurers, including Medicaid Managed Care organizations
