Job Summary
Job Summary: Job incumbent is responsible for the timely and accurate processing of Energy Assistance applications. Process benefits payments for all Tribal households served under the Energy Assistance program. Job incumbent is responsible for determining eligibility and processing benefit payments and applications within Energy Assistance program policy and assures cases are worked within the program timelines.
Adhere to the TCC Ch'eghwtsen' model of service and guiding principle which requires providing timely and effective service along with the ability to interact with others in a way that inspires trust and demonstrates respect, compassion and empathy.
Essential Functions

Representative Duties: Under general supervision of the Energy Assistance Coordinator, job incumbent will:
1. Determines assistance benefit levels and prepares check requests within the required timelines for the Energy Assistance Program.
2. Reviews client applications and determines eligibility for Energy Assistance program.
3. Process Weatherization requests including obtaining all information needed from Clients to complete order and Quotes from Vendors and making payments for the orders using Program P-Card.
4. Prepares letters or notices for applicants and ongoing recipients of Energy Assistance Program.
5. Maintain program files and database. Keep accurate records of all assistance paid.
6. Provides technical assistance to Tribal Work Force Development Specialists and /or Authorized Signers with application process and provides information regarding applications and statue of ambition for recipients.
7. Responds to client inquires through visits and telephonically. Extensive person to person contact and interviewing individuals to obtain information and to determine program or service eligibility. Expected to maintain strict client confidentiality at all times.
8. Monitors fraudulent applications and refers reports of fraud to the Energy Assistance Coordinator.
9. Prepares regular and special reports for the Program Coordinator.

1. High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
2. Minimum one year work experience working with public assistance, employment assistance, or related programs.
3. Computer skills using Microsoft Office with the ability to operate menu driven programs like Word and/or Excel.
4. Must pass background check pursuant to Alaska DHSS and federal Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act requirements.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
1. Strong oral, written, interpersonal, analytical and cross cultural communication skills.
2. Familiarities with TCC tribes in TCC service are preferred.
3. Knowledge of standard office equipment and familiarity with various menu driven software programs.
4. Expected to maintain strict client confidentiality.
Supervision: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
