Title:Supvr Facility ServicesCompany: Tampa Electric CompanyState and City: Florida- Tampa
Shift: 8 Hr. X 5 Days

POSITION CONCEPT:
The supervisor is responsible for supervising internal and external resources for the operation and maintenance of facility and building related systems for TECO Energy facilities. Also responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining processes that ensure asset integrity, operational readiness, NERC and environmental compliancy.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise, direct, and coach assigned personnel. Manage goal setting and performance review process for direct reports to maximize productivity, workmanship, safety, and personal development. Maintain a working knowledge of the current collective bargaining agreement.
  • Ensure all safe work practices and safety programs are utilized and strictly adhered to. Investigate and take appropriate action on personal injuries, near misses, and safety suggestions.
  • Manage and facilitate an on-going and comprehensive Continuous Improvement program.
  • Ensure Preventative Maintenance programs for the assigned area are kept current and maintained in a manner that maximizes equipment longevity and reliability.
  • Serve in a variety of key leadership roles to support ongoing operational needs of the Facility Services department.
  • Responsible for providing 24/7 support for all emergency calls and responses as needed to meet business needs.
  • Coordinate with Training Dept. to ensure assigned personnel receive necessary skills training including training required for classification step progression.
  • Develop, manage, and have accountability for budgets assigned to area of responsibility.
  • Manage personnel performance issues to include administration of the Positive Discipline program.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and policies for area of responsibility.
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate work using best practices to ensure work is being performed in the most efficient and cost-effective method.

EDUCATION:
Required: Valid High School Diploma or valid GED
Preferred: Bachelor's Degree

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
Required: Completion of a journeyman level electrical apprenticeship and 40 Hour Hazardous Waste Training certification.

EXPERIENCE:
Required: Minimum of seven (7) years of facility operations, maintenance, and construction experience.
Preferred: Understand the concept of Tampa Electric's financial/accounting systems

SUPERVISORY EXPERIENCE:
Required: N/A
Preferred: Five or more years of supervisory experience.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Required: Direct working knowledge with design, operations and maintenance of facility and building systems.Knowledge of federal, state, and local building and mechanical codes and regulatory requirements. Working knowledge of building design, engineering, construction and building maintenance to include the National Electric Code, NFPA, Life Safety Code and other regulatory requirements.
Preferred: Knowledge of working in a union environment; and a thorough knowledge of the TEC IBEW contract.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Responsible for providing 24/7 support for all emergency calls and responses as needed to meet business needs.
  • Required to work extended hours and weekends including shift changes. Working environment to include: hot working conditions indoors and outdoors; and during inclement/hazardous weather.
  • Perform environmental restoration along heavily travelled highways. Mandatory use of protective clothing and hearing protection.
  • Required to occasionally work on energized equipment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ REQUIREMENTS:

  • Physical demands of this position include the following: bending, kneeling, climbing, carrying loads of 50 lbs., holding, squatting, reaching and repetitive movements to include grasping, pushing and pulling and fine manipulation of hands.
