TALON LPE is Hiring an Environmental Technician I Near Midland, TX

Environmental Technicians work closely with environmental engineers and scientists. Uses principles and theories of science and engineering to solve technical problems. Conducts tests and field investigations to obtain data for use by environmental and scientific personnel in determining sources and methods of controlling pollutants in air, water, and soil, utilizing knowledge of agriculture, chemistry, meteorology, and principles of applied technologies. Work is more limited in scope and more practically oriented than that of scientists and engineers.

Much of the environmental technician’s job is performed in the field; when in the field, the tech makes careful notes not only about samples to be tested, but also on weather and other factors under which these samples were gathered.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Environmental monitoring.

· Equipment operation; inspect equipment and tools for appropriate maintenance, cleaning, monitoring, and performance.

· Collection and documentation of soil and groundwater samples.

· Documentation of field activities.

· Maintain clean and presentable jobsite.

· Safely load and transport waste.

· Knowledge and proper use of field equipment.

· Ensuring repairs and required maintenance are completed for vehicles and equipment.

· Submission of appropriate state well reports.

· Must be able to wear any required PPE.

· Review and adhere to federal, state, and local guidelines.

· Adhere to QA/QC procedures.

· Ability to professionally communicate with clients on jobsites.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:

· 0 - 2 years of experience field or related field.

· Must have solid written and verbal communication skills.

· Good analytical skills are required to solve environmental problems.

· Must be able to work as a team.

· Must be able to speak and understand English.

· Must possess a valid Driver’s License.

· Motor vehicle driving record that is consistent with Company and insurance carrier standards and policies.

· Must able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug test.

· Able to travel to jobsites during all phases of a project and able to travel to jobsites which may be remote.

· Must be able to walk, bend, stoop, and climb ladders for extended periods of time.

· Must have strong work ethic, be a self starter, a problem solver, and a team player.

· Must be able to wear any required PPE.

· Review and adhere to federal, state, and local guidelines.

· Adhere to QA/QC procedures.

· Ability to professionally communicate with clients on jobsites.

· Able to perform heavy lifting; minimum 50 pounds.

WORK CONDITIONS:

· Typically works daytime hours performing field work.

· Will work outdoors.

· Ability to travel as required for position.

MEDICAL EXAMINATIONS:

Depending on an individual’s job duties, the Company may require an individual to complete a medical examination.
