Leidos has an immediate opening for a Systems Engineer in support of the Defense Threat Reduction Agency. The position requires an active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility. All work is done onsite at DTRA’s facilities at Fort Belvoir, Virginia and Reston, Virginia, with a minimal amount of local travel in the National Capital Region (NCR). This is a full time position (40hrs/week).
Primary Responsibilities:
Provides advanced support for operation and maintenance of existing DTRA operational environments (primarily Windows-based).
Designs and implements multi-cloud application security and delivery solutions across numerous unclassified and classified networks
using advanced technologies such as BIG-IP, LTM, DNS/GSLB, APM, IdAM, 2FA/PKI, idP & SP, Zero Trust, iRule, and BIG-IQ.
Designs and implements Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and Certificate Authority (CA) solutions, which facilitate/sustain DTRA's compliance with Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Information Assurance (IA) mandates for 2FA and future Zero Trust architectures.
Designs and implements identity management and single sign-on solutions for DTRA applications and access to DTRA applications throughout the enterprise and from outside the DTRA perimeter.
Plans, designs, and executes infrastructure and Active Directory domain consolidations and migrations.
Develops, maintains, and reviews system documentation to include implementation plans, system security plans, as-builts, and architectural diagrams as appropriate.
Coordinates with project managers to develop project plans, communication plans and schedules as required.
Participates in requirements analysis and feasibility studies.
Assists program management and Chief Technologist in the development of technology roadmaps and enterprise architecture products and artifacts.
Conducts market research and develops analyses of alternatives (AoAs) to recommend technology improvements and modernization initiatives.
Assists in the training and development of junior engineering staff.
Basic Qualifications:
Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility.
Bachelor’s degree with 12 years of experience, or master’s degree with 10 years of experience.
Experience above minimum requirements may be considered in lieu of degree.
8570 compliant security certification (IAT Level II or higher).
Computing Environment Certification (Microsoft/F5 Certification/VCP as appropriate).
Experience implementing DoD certificate-based authentication (CAC and alternate tokens) and single-sign on (SSO) methodologies.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare professional briefs and documents for an executive level audience with minimal editing or rework.
Excellent customer service skills.
Expert knowledge and hands-on experience with DoD server, operating system, and application hardening processes including scanning, vulnerability remediation, and STIG compliance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced Subject Matter Expert (SME) level experience in one or more Microsoft back office technologies (SQL Server, IIS, Exchange Server, etc).
Master’s Degree in an Information Technology Discipline.
Microsoft Windows Server 2012, 2016, and/or Active Directory certifications.
Advanced knowledge of and design experience with Windows Active Directory architectures, and experience migrating objects and services between disparate forests/domains.
Advanced knowledge of Windows scripting technologies (Windows PowerShell).
Working knowledge of vBrick webcasting technologies.
DISA STIGs and other DoD guidance.
DoD systems engineering processes and procedures.
Project Management principles.
Experience developing and managing IT requirements (functional and non-functional).
Enterprise IT ticketing systems (e.g., Remedy).
VMware virtual environments, including Horizon virtual desktop infrastructure.
