Job Opening: Retail Associate - Barista

Founded in 2014 by renowned chef Mona Talbott and veteran cheesemonger Kate Arding, our company is devoted to making and selling the best foods possible, using ingredients and products from farmers and artisans in our region. Over the last eight years, TACP has become a premier culinary destination in the Hudson Valley, as well as a destination for learning about the world of artisanal, locally-sourced, seasonal and sustainably produced foods.

Who We’re Looking for:

TACP is looking for motivated individuals who are enthusiastic about hospitality and serious about making consistently high quality beverages. This is a great opportunity for someone who has experience as a Barista . Talbott & Arding is expanding our house made drinks program and needs more talented people!

Responsibilities

Greet customers and provide friendly, efficient and informed customer service.

Work as a team under the leadership of the Head Barista

Communicate the daily drinks and pastry menu to all customers with confidence

Taste and have a good understanding of all the TACP products on the pastry counter to be able to help customers with any food inquiries.

Help to maintain a safe working environment in accordance with sanitation and hygiene regulations. Keep the Prepared foods counter clean and organized

Operate the POS system, weighing scales and cash register with accuracy and efficiency

Follow safe guidelines for alcohol handling

Follow all opening and end-of-day systems and procedures.

Assist with stocking products & correct rotation of inventory.

Assist with maintaining accurate temperature records.

Assist with finishing and checking out catering orders for in-store pick up.

Qualifications:

Great verbal and written skills

Friendly and thoughtful personality

Experience with customer service and food service preferred, but willing to train a good candidate.

Food handler’s ServSafe certification

Alcohol Servsafe certification

Must be able to stand for work shifts of 8 hours

Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.

Must be available to work mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays and other prime times of the business.

Compensation:

$17/hour plus share of employee bonus fund

Benefits & Perks:

Health insurance: 50% subsidy of individual health insurance premium after 60 days of continuous full time employment.

PTO, 40 hours of awarded paid time off after 12 months of continuous full time employment

Employee discount: 20% discount on in store purchases.
