Tailoress Atelier is small tailoring studio with onsite and offsite alterations. Based in East Williamsburg, Brooklyn we pride ourselves on a modern tailoring experience provided by a new generation of tailors with design in mind. Our studio spaces are designed for a private and personable experience. We have recently expanded and are searching for an experienced fitting consultant to interact with our wonderful clientele.

Responsibilities

• Manage team of tailors and stitchers
• Liase communications with fitting salon consultants
• Maintain and update order list and daily operations
• Takes pride in delivering garments and meticulously check work for quality/accuracy
• Anticipate the needs of your tailoring team and clients, and feel committed to proactively creating a supportive environment for all
• Thoughtfully managing workload
• Communicating daily ongoings and future events
• Ordering supplies and scheduling shopping

Qualifications

• Knowledge of garment construction, alterations, and patterning techniques
• Experience leading garment/costume fittings
• Ability to work with private client
• Ability to work around all types of fabrics, trims, fibers
• Knowledge of sewing terms, fabric types, and garment notions
• Able to lead workflow and project budgets
• Exceptional communication skills
• Careful listener and an effective speaker/writer
• Must be assertive and take initiative
• Highly organized and active in completely short/long term tasks
• 7-10 years of alteration, tailoring, custom experience required
• 2-3 years of management experience required
• General computer skills
• Proficiency in English and Spanish required

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
