Tahoma Global Logistics is Hiring an Account Manager Near Tacoma, WA

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Account Manager directs and oversees assigned Transload/Warehouse customer account(s) and provides vital support to their team to ensure the safe and efficient handling and flow of freight throughout Tahoma Global Logistics (TGL) property. This includes being the primary contact for assigned account(s) including all customer service contact and issue resolution. Account Manager prepares/processes Purchase Orders, Work Orders, BOL’s, inbound and outbound paperwork, inventory tracking, and month end invoicing; this includes reconciliation of any account discrepancies. Account manager will also manage all inbound and outbound appointment scheduling, maintain site security, and visitor processing. In addition, this position is responsible for keeping the customer share drive up to date and accurate. This position will start out as part time, and transition to full time over approximately 3 months.

 RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Excellent attendance for all scheduled shifts
  • Must be professional and have a strong customer service focus to provide solutions for any customer related supply chain needs
  • Be assertive and take initiative to quicky learn the customer requirements and the industry needs
  • Must be proactive in communicating with the customer regarding their needs
  • Monitor external customer and internal emails
  • Process internal inventory, including areas such as locating, tagging, auditing, and reconciliation reporting
  • Accurately record and correspond with the customer in regards to inventory other vital information; process all discrepancies and notify correct department at our customer site
  • Input correct information into ETCS, such as entering all applicable rates, billing, and invoicing information per yard reports and communications
  • Create and issue customer activity reports
  • Track costs and expenses and prepare invoices for transloading customer and for input to TGL accounting
  • Process production and logistics tasks such as inbound proof of delivery (POD), outbound bill of lading (BOL), transfers, delivery orders (DO), inbound/outbound packets, and picking/packing/scheduling outbound shipments with carriers
  • Maintain effective communications and documentation processes with all coordinated internal departments; this includes preparing internal work orders and documentation for value added services and outside contractor services
  • Assist with all assigned projects / tasks as needed, including yard inventories
  • Contribute, when possible, for improvements regarding safety, quality, delivery, and cost through continuous improvement methods identify potential areas of risk, and promptly share critical business information with key stakeholders to maximize results throughout TGL
  • Coordinate effective teamwork and use all company resources efficiently to promote superior financial results for TGL; maintain TGL equipment and assets to maximize return on investment
  • Establish and maintain effective business relationships with all employees, vendors, business partners, government/regulatory entities, and communities in which we operate
  • Strictly enforce workplace safety measures; safeguard the welfare of all employees, guests, visitors, and business partners at all times; promptly report workplace risks, incidents, injuries, and near misses; consistently wear and utilize all required PPE 
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding all sensitive and proprietary business information and safeguard TGL assets at all times

REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum

  • 18 years or older
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid WA driver's license and good driving record
  • Five years customer service experience
  • Inventory management experience
  • Experience with processing work orders
  • Excellent organizational skills and high attention to detail
  • Ability to record, analyze, reconcile, and interpret business data; and enter data into business computer systems
  • Ability to make intelligent business decisions using effectual mix of analysis, experience, and judgment
  • Excellent math skills and the ability to calculate profit margins, record labor and expenses, audit invoicing and apply GL codes accordingly
  • Ability to problem solve, effectively multi-task, and manage competing priorities to meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Good PC and MS Office skills; strong Excel skills
  • Able to maintain a positive work attitude and demeanor
  • Culturally sensitive and works well with the full diversity of our company and community
  • Ability to transport self over multi acre work site of varied terrain and climb in/out of equipment
  • Ability to occasionally work non-standard hours to accommodate business needs, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to pass background check

Preferred

  • Four year degree in related field
  • Any similar industry/business related education, training or certifications
  • Experience working with budgets, P&L statements, ROI’s, determining expense to revenue ratios, and/or preparing scope and rates
  • Experience with multi line phone systems and/or industry related software systems
  • Knowledge of supply chain and/or warehouse processes

Puyallup Tribal Enterprises (PTE) is the economic development entity for the Puyallup Tribe of Indians, located in Tacoma, WA. PTE formed Tahoma Global Logistics in December 2022 to leverage Tribal properties in the heart of the Port of Tacoma, WA for logistics operations. Located within the Heavy Cargo corridor of the Tacoma port, we are ready to support any and all of your outdoor storage requirements. We provide drayage services, regional trucking, and transloading of project cargoes from trailer to flatrack, including blocking, bracing, and export packing. Tribal and Indian preference employer as required by law.
