Tacoma/Pierce County Habitat for Humanity is Hiring a Homeowner Services Administrative Assistant Near Tacoma, WA

As ourHomeowner Services Administrative Assistant, you would be an integral part of an upbeat, supportive, and mission-driven team that share the vision of a world where everyone has a decent place to live! Tacoma/Pierce County Habitat for Humanity partners with people in your community to help them build or improve a place they can call home.

In this position, you will report to the Director of Homeowner Services and be responsible for providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of Tacoma Pierce County Habitat for Humanity’s homeowner services department. This will be an in-office position.

Primary Duties and Core Responsibilities

  • Answer incoming calls – take action or transfer as appropriate
  • Maintain homeowner service’s general e-mail inbox and voice mail. Return or transfer messages as appropriate.
  • Client intakes – including but not limited to processing referrals for mortgage assistance program, sending initial email to request documentation, sending follow-up emails to schedule counseling appointments.
  • Provide administrative support to homeowner services team
  • Data entry
  • Assist with staff and client events or meetings
  • Other tasks as assigned

Qualifications

Skills:

  • Prior administrative assistant experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of MS Outlook and Office Suite (especially Word and Excel).
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills with attention with attention to detail and follow-through.

  • Ability to multi-task and use time-management skills to achieve performance goals and meet deadlines in an environment with multiple interruptions.
  • Ability to exercise good judgement and maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to create positive, long-term working relationships by demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and customer service, tact, dependability, diplomacy, and flexibility.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to remain in a stationary position for long periods while operating a computer to create documents, send and receive e-mail and participate in meetings; communicate on a telephone and in person; read and write; apply logic and focus attention in the presence of distractions.
  • Occasional requirements are to move about the office to access file cabinets, office equipment, etc. Must be able to lift 25-50 lbs. Some nights and weekend events may be required.
