Job Summary
Performs a variety of duties related to the administration of payroll and benefits.
Primary Responsibilities - Payroll
  • Prepares, reviews and inputs payroll data
  • Analyzes timekeeping records for accuracy, completeness, and approval
  • Uses automated system to produce accurate and timely payroll checks
  • Compiles, prepares and maintains statistical and payroll reports and records
  • Maintains payroll database per authorized instructions and in support of automated feeds and corporate reporting
  • Resolves employee and supervisor payroll related questions
  • Ensures accurate and timely quarterly and annual payroll tax reports
  • Processes exception items requiring special handling such as garnishments, bonuses, or stock options and dividends.
  • Responds to inquiries from employees regarding deductions, calculations, and changes in compensation.
  • Manually calculates wages and post wage data for temporary work, bonuses, vacation, terminations, and special payroll requirements.
  • Performs analysis and reviews of data, develop reports for management review
  • Trains employees and management on the timekeeping program and timekeeping policies
  • Determine ways to improve current HR operational processes with automation or change in procedures/process consistent with HR best practices.
Primary Responsibilities – HR
  • Updates job descriptions to ensure all jobs have a current skills-based description in a standard format
  • Recruits, interviews, tests, and selects employees to fill vacant positions.
  • Plans and conducts new employee on-boarding to a foster positive attitude toward company goals as well a knowledge of all compliance areas.
  • Updates policies and procedures ensuring compliance with current and applicable laws.
  • Champions the online training and development programs and initiatives for continual learning.
  • Trains management in front line skills which may include interviewing, promotions, performance issues, performance review, identifying employee needs for a leave of absence, safety, and harassment and bullying prevention.
  • Leads the investigation and resolution of employee relations issues.
  • May conduct exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
  • Promptly responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and benefits.
  • AAP/EEO administration (Applicant flow log, executes and reports actions from AAP checklist and related reports).
  • Provides support to projects as needed including general filing, scanning, and indexing.
  • Regular and timely communication to employees about events and any changes, or new offerings.
Qualifications
  • Expertise in state and federal wage and hour laws including overtime applicability and meal time penalties.
  • Knowledge of pre and post tax deductions implications as well as qualified earnings for benefit plans
  • Knowledge of leave of absence laws and interactions with job protected leaves
  • Skill, tact, persuasion and/or negotiation to accomplish the objectives and communication is required.
  • Initiative to take action on employee relations issues, solving problems, or making changes to enhance the efficiency of the department.
  • Detailed oriented
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications
  • To conform to US export control regulations, applicant should be eligible for any required authorizations from the US Government
SKILLS:
  • ADP payroll expertise required; ADP Vantage is preferred; third party payroll experience will be considered
  • Expertise in payroll best practices, reconciliation and reporting
  • Knowledge of the current regulatory standards and policies and procedures of payroll
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, policies, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, employees, customers, and vendors.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized and ambiguous situations.
  • Bi-lingual English-Spanish
  • Advanced level of proficiency with applicant tracking systems, Internet browser, spreadsheets, presentation, project management, and word processing software.
  • Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal as well as listening and inquiring skills.
  • Detail oriented to ensure work product is thorough, correct, and complete.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
Education/Previous Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or related field or two to four years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or Sr. Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification preferred.
  • 3 years payroll processing and reporting experience.
  • 3-5 years HR Generalist experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment or related industries, preferred, and work experience in a fast paced, multi-cultural environment.
