Overview

The Quality Assurance PCQI Admin position plays a critical role in maintaining quality and food safety programs, reviewing records for key food safety monitoring and verification activities, and ensuring compliance to the facility Food Safety Plan. This person shall report any non-conformance of programs, records, raw materials, or finished goods to the plant QA Supervisor or QA Manager.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) responsible for the review of monitoring and verification records for Food Safety Preventive Controls
• Review, organize, route, and file completed paperwork from the Operations, Sanitation, and Quality Assurance Department
• Return inaccurate, incomplete, or non-confirming paperwork to the responsible personnel for correction or corrective action
• Assist in preparing for and facilitating internal and external audits and inspections
• Assume additional responsibility for the creation and maintenance of QA programs, forms, and processes to support Indianola’s food safety and quality management system
• Communicate non-compliant results immediately to management
• Monitor plant for compliance to GMP’s
• Conduct other duties, as assigned by the plant QA Supervisor or QA Manager.

Qualifications

• AS or BS in science-related field required
• Previous quality assurance experience required
• Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills
• Ability to work and contribute as part of a team
• Demonstrated ability to creatively problem solve and innovate to facilitate continual improvement
• Strong leadership, interpersonal skills, and ability to collaborate cross-functionally
• Flexibility and dependability to assume the responsibilities of a QA Analyst, as needed to maintain appropriate coverage and support plant operations
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and overtime, as needed, to support a fast-paced and dynamic work environment

Working Conditions/Environment

Works in a manufacturing environment where the employee is regularly required to speak, read, sit, stand, lift, reach, and bend while moving about the facility. Must be able to stand up for an 8-hour shift (sometimes longer) with regular breaks. Earplugs, hairnets and steel-toed shoes are required per company and plant GMP and Safety requirements.
