Accounting/Finance Manager- 15211 (Direct Hire)

SYSTEMTEC is actively engaged in a very strategic search seeking Accounting / Finance Manager. In this position, you are responsible for all General Ledger records including the control of subsidiary records. Balances fixed asset records. Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting for internal and external uses. Resolves financial discrepancies. Assists with budget development and administration. Assists with forecasting. Responsible for effective cash management. Responsible for departmental work procedures. Provides coordination for tax and audit activities and inventory.

Responsibilities of the Accounting/Finance Manager:

  • Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to provide sponsorship or work with Third-Party agencies.
  • Assumes responsibility for the effective performance of accounting department functions and personnel.
  • Responsible for General Ledger activities and reconciliations
  • Computes data for and prepares regularly scheduled and special accounting reports and statements
  • Responsible for validating monthly electric revenue and calculating the unbilled adjustment and updating the model data
  • Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
  • Maintains monthly expense spreads and reconciliations
  • Trains and directs accounting staff, ensures personnel are well-informed of policies and procedures
  • Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective business relations with vendors, governmental agencies, and outside business and accounting professionals.
  • Prepares analysis as needed for responsibility areas and assists during audits as required
  • Responsible for the external auditors prepared by client listing and managing audit requests and inventory
  • Interacts and attends classes, meeting and conferences with other Finance and Accounting professionals
  • Assists departments with annual budget preparation and budget reviews; assists payroll coordinator with the preparation of the annual labor budget; assists in the overall development, preparation and presentation of the annual budget.
  • Performs functions of the Chief Financial Officer in their absence.
  • Maintains regular contact with other departments to obtain information and/or to correct transactions. This includes monthly expense reports, visa reports, and budget reports to be sent to all departments. In addition, working with administration on the bi-annual Lobbying report.
  • Assists with analysis of various general ledger accounts, analysis and special project activities as may be requested by the Chief Financial Officer.
  • Serves as additional Payroll backup for posting hours from timecards to payroll system, processing bi-weekly payroll, and for the monthly closing and balancing of payroll records. Completes the payroll account book and bank reconciliation.

Requirements of the Accounting/Finance Manager:

  • BS degree in accounting required, MA degree preferred
  • CPA/CMA preferred; NOT required
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, internal control concepts, records management budgetary processes and computerized accounting systems
  • Knowledge of data gathering techniques, such as internet research or files analysis, to obtain technical and administrative materials for organizational use
  • Maintain professional knowledge of regulatory issues as it pertains to financial management
  • Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • 5 years of progressive accounting and related supervisory experience
  • Ability to coordinate projects with other employees, as well as the ability to work with and consistently meet deadlines, budgets, and work on several projects simultaneously
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs: Word, Excel & Outlook as well as other related programs
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize work
