Department: Contracting

Starting wage Range: $18.00 to 22.00 (overtime possible during peak season)

Reports to: Senior Project Manager

Field Technician Responsibilities (training provided):

  • Install, troubleshoot, and maintain various structured cabling systems such as Internet, TV, Voice, access control and security systems
  • Run low-voltage cabling in new construction sites, retrofit buildings
  • Terminate cables and build out telecommunication closets at customer sites
  • Install Aps and Network Equipment
  • Fiber optic stripping, cleaving and splicing
  • Promptly provide clear daily updates and communicate effectively with Project Managers, customers, technicians, and internal teams
  • Conduct tests to ensure all newly installed cabling systems and devices are operational
  • Follow Synergy Cabling standards, policies, and procedures
  • Adhere to all safety requirements as set forth by Synergy, jobsites, and OSHA.
  • Understand the complete scope of work and job cost documents.
  • Manage the assigned crew to complete tasks on time.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers and Contracting Managers to perform wiring projects.
  • Ensure work orders or change orders are submitted on time and with accuracy.
  • Work with Project Manager to complete all project closeout documents, including as builds, testing documents, and update any relevant support documentation in the customer folder.

In Office Responsibilities:

  • Can type
  • Knows or can learn Microsoft office 365 (Word/Excel)
  • Serve as back up for IT Service Desk team
  • Answer incoming client calls, exercise concierge level customer service while creating tickets in accordance with each client’s specific needs
  • Support on-call over weekends and after-work hours on a rotation basis

Travel Requirement:

  • Road Warrior - Intensive Travel to various jobsites in all 50 states is required for this position.

  • High proficient with the use of smartphones, computers including office 365 and ability to learn internal systems
  • Comfortable working unsupervised or along with a team of subcontractors

  • Ability to pass any state required licensing exams
  • High School graduate are welcome to apply, Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Telecommunications, Network Engineering or other related disciplines a plus.
