Description

JOB SUMMARY

The senior copywriter is responsible for crafting brand-specific messaging across all channels, which includes brainstorming ideas, developing concepts, crafting project manuscripts, and addressing team and client comments. The role is the project owner for multiple brands. He/she reports to a, Assosciate Creative Director and works with an Art Director and internal team to ensure all projects meet and exceed client expectations.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Brand/campaign owner by crafting imaginative, understandable, and persuasive copy aligned with brand message
  • Learn the marketing of assigned brands
  • Gain fundamental knowledge of assigned brand(s) and a foundational knowledge of brand science
  • Learn to generate manuscripts, annotations and references based on Addison Whitney and client specifications
  • Successfully incorporate internal and client revisions while maintaining impact of art/copy
  • Learn to execute concepts across digital and traditional channels
  • Learn to present these ideas clearly and effectively to internal team members (and to clients when requested)
  • Read and execute against a creative brief template
  • Create concepts that are relevant, strategically focused, thought-provoking, and reflect diverse thinking
  • Develop an understanding of the creative process and how jobs move through the agency
  • Review possible creative, tactical, and messaging approaches with supervisor
  • Keep up-to-date with trends in branding, marketing, advertising, and related communication industries
  • Positively represent the agency internally and at industry functions
  • Understand brand(s) objectives and challenges in the context of the overall market
  • Quickly emulate different brand tones/voices and generate solid working drafts
  • Build effective relationships and embrace the spirit of teamwork in collaborations with partner(s), account, editorial, PM, and client(s)
  • Communicate with internal creative and account teams in a professional manner

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS (please indicate if preferred or required)

  • Must have minimum of 7 years of experience and/or a solidunderstanding of marketing and advertising principles
  • Bachelors degree with a concentration in advertising, communications, or journalism and/or coursework related to pharmaceutical advertising or life sciences is preferred (but not required)
  • Portfolio containing work samples that demonstrate creative thinking and exceptional writing skills
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to accept constructive internal and/or client feedback
  • Ability to multitask with precision in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic understanding of digital communications and media channels
  • Interest in new technologies and emerging cultural trends
  • Energy, a sense of humor, and an open and curious mind
  • Work beyond what is described in job description as needed; willing to be flexible for the team, and ultimately the work, and demonstrate a willingness to work across teams as needed
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

The anticipated hourly rate for this position is XX but may vary based on various factors such as the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and proficiency for the role.
