Syneos Health Commercial Solutions is Hiring an Associate Director, Patient Access Near Princeton, NJ

Description

The Associate Director, Patient Access will manage day to day hub operations for company hub programs, starting with a company product franchise and expanding to one or more products over time. The Associate Director will support the Senior Director, Patient Access on launches for new hub programs and then lead all day to day operations of the hub post launch. Duties will include overseeing hub and Patient Assistance Program (PAP) vendors, ensuring all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are met or exceeded, anticipating/identifying/resolving potential operational challenges, overseeing accurate and timely reporting of results, monitoring program budgets, and ensuring all legal, regulatory and pharmacovigilance requirements are being met. Associate Director will also interact regularly with brand teams and other internal functional areas including finance, legal, safety, quality, training and others as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Program operations: Lead day to day operations of a patient access hub. Ensure that all program operations are running smoothly and in accordance with program business rules and all safety, legal and regulatory requirement. Collaborate with vendor to update business rules as appropriate.
  • Vendor management: Serve as primary liaison between company and hub vendor. Anticipate and address program challenges. Work closely with vendor to track and meet or exceed all program KPIs including call volumes, wait times, benefits investigation turnaround times.
  • Reporting: Work with hub vendor and data management to ensure that all key hub data is reported on time and accurately through the data portal. Develop and distribute summary reports to key company colleagues on a regular basis. Work with vendor to prepare ad hoc reports as needed.
  • Pharmacovigilance: Collaborate with vendor and safety team to ensure that all adverse events (AEs) and product complaints are reported at the right time in accordance with guidelines. Serve as point person for Safety team for any data requests related to AEs or to help coordinate and required audits of hub vendor.
  • Copay program: Oversee operations for copay program for products available through the hub. Coordinate copay card enrollment through the hub. Develop and update copay program enrollment forms. Serve as key liaison with copay program vendor. Ensure timely reporting of key copay program data, and that all copay program KPIs are met or exceeded. Collaborate with brand team to develop copay program offers.
  • Patient Assistance Program (PAP): Oversee operations for PAP for products available through the hub. Confirm eligibility requirements are met, prior to approving or denying. Serve as key liaison with PAP vendor. Ensure timely reporting of key PAP data, and that all PAP KPIs are met or exceeded.
  • Budgeting: Support Patient Access Senior Director with developing, maintaining and meeting all program budget requirements. Assist with forecasting. Provide Senior Director with timely alerts regarding potential budget overages.
  • Field Reimbursement Team: Support Patient Access Senior Director with management and training of outsourced Field Reimbursement Managers (FRMs) and Director. Maintain open lines of communication between FRMs and Hub as appropriate.
  • Support Senior Director, Patient Access on new program launches. Assist with Request for Proposals (RFPs) as required. Provide input to strategic planning for new hubs and developing key requirements for new programs.

Requirements:

  • BA/BS degree.
  • 7 years of experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry, or experience with a Hub service provider.
  • Familiarity with buy and bill process.
  • Demonstrated depth with reimbursement support services and hubs.
  • Understanding of legal/regulatory/safety requirements with hubs.
  • Experience working with or managing Field Reimbursement Managers.
  • Familiarity with patient assistance (free medicine) programs.
  • Understanding of coding associated with claims reimbursement.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally as need to achieve desired results.
  • Ability to advance and complete projects on time and within budget.
  • Anticipate and address challenges to ensure smooth operations of hub services.
  • Ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently in a collaborative manner.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong business acumen.
