The Senior Manager / Associate Director of US Commercialization Analytics, Eliquis is a dynamic member of BMS’ US Commercialization Analytics team that partners very closely with Commercial, Finance and other matrix teams to drive effective insights and analytics. The US Commercialization Analytics team is a unique organization within BMS that partners closely with the full matrix team to coordinate and integrate insights across various analytical functions such as forecasting, market research, and secondary data analytics to answer key questions on performance and strategy.

The US Cardiovascular organization is an important pillar of BMS’ strategy with a combination of established (Eliquis) and recently launched (Camzyos) brands that are critical to the future of the company. This candidate will be responsible for working with their support resources to complete the standard BMS Business Insight & Analytics deliverables, as well as delivering high-quality solutions and answers to ad hoc requests/questions. The Senior Manager / Associate Director will work with the Commercialization Analytics Eliquis Lead to support senior leadership by providing analytic guidance and helping Brand teams (and extended stakeholders) make informed strategic decisions and choices.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Together with the US Eliquis Commercialization Analytics Lead, is accountable for generating, presenting, defending, and maintaining short-term (3 year) range-based forecasts for Eliquis with a high degree of precision and insight

    • Identify, gather, and rigorously analyze information to generate a deeper understanding of diseases, markets, and competitive environments. Proactively and continuously assess the relevant marketplace and its dynamics, customers, and competitors

    • Develop and deliver clear, concise presentations that synthesize disparate data (market research, secondary data, etc.), and that demonstrate a deep understanding of the market dynamics, competition, and brand

    • Execute core forecasting activities by overseeing the development, maintenance, and execution of advanced MS Excel-based forecasting models

    • Manage forecasting trending exercises by utilizing Forecast software/add-ins such as Forecast Pro.

    • Partner with the Worldwide forecasting and commercial teams to validate and test long-term forecast

  • Lead the synthesis of data from multiple primary and secondary data sources (APLD, IQVIA NSP and NPA, various SHS sources, Claims, Patient chart data, IQVIA BrandImpact, etc.) to extract meaningful business insights and to inform forecast assumptions as well as marketing strategies related to Customer Segmentation/Analytics, Promotion Planning & Performance Measurement, and Ad-hoc Analytics (inc. major brand meeting support)

    • Execute market/business analysis to improve value to our patients through deepened market understanding and practical application

    • Support culture of fact-based decision making through the utilization of standard methodologies and approaches

    • Proactively manage flow of planned and ad hoc analytics requests, ensuring consistent quality and timeliness in delivery to business stakeholders

    • Provide input/feedback to improve and enhance capabilities related to analytics deliverables including support of innovative data sources

    • Apply data storytelling to extract insights from data and present to commercial stakeholders in a clear, concise, and compelling manner

  • When required, become involved in the design and development of primary market research studies

    • Work with US Eliquis Commercialization Analytics Lead to manage market research budget

    • Proactively identify business needs and propose appropriate primary/secondary market research solutions

    • Deliver a clear set of recommendations from projects that maximize commercial impact

  • Consistently provide end-to-end support to answer internal commercial business unit questions regarding brand performance, marketplace activity, competitor product activity, or other pharmaceutical market changes in support of decision-making for the U.S. commercial organization

  • Collaborate extensively within the US Commercialization Analytics and broader matrix teams (Data Analytics, Market Research, Competitive Intelligence, etc.) to identify logical and unbiased insights, and provide a unified view of the business

  • Develops and maintains a deep understanding of US Eliquis business priorities

  • Support the ad-hoc business-critical activities such as BD assessments, Earnings Prep documents, onboarding of senior leaders, etc.

  • Lead, manage and mentor support resources

  • For brands that are co-promoted, working with the partner company may be required

  • Understands, demonstrates, and drives adherence to all BMS operating policies

Requirements:

  • 3 years of Biotech or Pharma experience in Forecasting and/or Analytics (Senior Manager)

  • 5 years of Biotech or Pharma experience in Forecasting and/or Analytics (Associate Director)

  • BA required, Masters or PhD preferred

  • Strong grasp of an individual analytical discipline, such as forecasting, secondary data analytics, or marketing science, with a good general knowledge of other functions such as primary market research

  • Extensive knowledge of IQVIA and SHS data sources

  • Extensive knowledge and use of both primary research and secondary data sources

  • Ability to present to and influence senior leaders on critical decisions

  • Ability to connect analytics with the overarching business questions, and understand the link between brand strategy and analytic insights

  • Manage ambiguity by questioning data and/or stakeholder for further nuanced information.

  • Ability to operate on less than perfect data, by having a sound logical framework.

  • Can defend a position when necessary, particularly around forecast assumptions, and is persuasive in negotiations (especially as it relates to senior management)

  • Demonstrate a continuous commitment to the QC process to ensure quality of deliverables meets or exceeds the forecasting teams’ standards

  • Experience in cardiovascular is preferred
