Software Engineer

REMOTE 

Syndetix is seeking a creative and talented Software Engineer to join our engineering team. In this position you will be responsible for assisting in designing Signal Intelligence (SIGINT) and Electronic Warfare (EW) software products for the Department of Defense, Department of Justice, Intelligence Community, and international customers.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBLITIES:

•  Research, design, development, and test of software applications for a variety of systems.
• Understand customer/operational requirements and implement new functionality into software products.
• Develop unit test software to exercise critical aspects of the system.
• Document and communicate highly technical concepts effectively to technical and non-technical audiences in a clear and effective manner.
• Assists the development of software components within the next generation of hardware, evaluating customer/operational needs, confirming, and verifying system performance and functional requirements, and defining functional/program interfaces to support existing and future products.
• Participate in the full system life cycle for all the products developed by Syndetix. 
• Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to lead and assist with analyses, design, development, and verification of a lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions. 
• Analyses to evaluate customer/operational needs to define system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters, and assure compatibility of all functional and program interfaces. 
• Assists with, various analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture. 
• Assists the production team to evaluate/debug/repair software programs related to existing products and trial functions.
• Conducts other tasks and duties as assigned. 
• Effectively communicate project status to management.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or computer engineer and 5 years of related experience. 
• Experience in software languages and methodologies.
• General knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming, mobile platforms, GUI design, web technologies, operating systems. 
• Knowledge of software languages and environments including (but not limited to): 
  1. Java, Android, C, C , Scripting languages, HTML, Python, Flutter, Dart, SQL 
  2. Windows, Linux, Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  3. Android Studio IDE, Intellij IDEA, PyCharm IDE, VS Code, and similar

 PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

• Experience with Database management.
• Experience with Web technologies (AWS, AWS RDS, AWS EKS, Flutter, Dart, etc.).
• Experience with Agile CI/CD.
• Experience with VCS (Git, GitLabs, Azure DevOps, etc.).
• Experience with deployment pipelines.
• Experience with software testing automation.
• Experience with OpenAPI.

GENERAL INFORMATION:

This position requires the candidate to be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance. To obtain a clearance, the candidate will need to be a US Citizen and show proof of citizenship.
