Synchrony Financial is Hiring a Remote VP, Relationship Manager

Job Description:

Role Summary/Purpose:

The VP, Relationship Manager is responsible for supporting the Client Leader in driving the performance of a Synchrony multi partner portfolio in the Home Furniture and Electronics industries in the US. This role will partner cross-functionally with business leaders to drive growth and change via a balanced focus on customers, people, process, and innovation.

We’re proud to offer you choice and flexibility. You have the option to be remote, and work from home, or come into one of our offices. You may be occasionally requested to commute to our nearest office for in person engagement activities such as team meetings, training and culture events.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Help lead the client P&Ls, drive the development and execution of a long-term growth strategy that incorporates critical value proposition elements aimed at increasing sales and credit penetration while building relationship equity to insulate from the competition.

  • Manage and coordinate the strategic engagement frameworks (and evolution) for the multi partner portfolio, focusing heavily on product commercialization, field sales engagement, new account growth, repeat usage and value-added capability delivery.

  • Work with the client team to ensure program performance & sales goals are met.

  • Leverage various channels to influence retail partners to achieve growth goals. Various channels include, but aren’t limited to phone, face to face meeting, and emails.

  • Help maintain competitive information and optimize how we differentiate vs. the competition.

  • Work effectively in a highly cross-functional environment with other departments such as Marketing, IT, Risk, Finance, Operations, Compliance & Training to support business objectives.

  • Work with Operations and Sales Support team to resolve day-to-day escalated/ad hoc client and sales requests.

  • Develop quarterly business reviews, both internally and externally, as well as being an active member in planning all other client interactions to drive business engagement and results.

  • Manage and execute, in very close coordination with cross-functional partners, the overall strategic initiative roadmap focused on Digital Enhancements, Operational Excellence and Store Servicing and Selling.

  • Develop, maintain and execute a store-level segmentation and engagement plan for stores (continuing to expand) to ensure appropriate connections are made outside of day-to-day corporate contacts.

  • Proactively scan potential risk and compliance concerns; ensure all contractual and compliance obligations are being met.

  • Leverage data analytics for comprehensive diagnosis of the client’s business and the health/opportunities within the credit program.

  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or 5 years of equivalent work experience

  • 5 years leadership experience with B2B Marketing or Sales

  • 5 years experience working to influence/understanding a P&L

  • 3 years of leading and/or supporting cross-functional initiatives

  • Ability to travel up to 30% (including weekends)

Desired Characteristics:

  • Demonstrated prior experience involving contract negotiations, competitive pricing, business planning and P&L leadership

  • Experience with web-based sales / B2B Sales / marketing activities and/or mobile technologies

  • Organizational skills and effective time management to succeed in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent strategic, organizational, and prioritization skills

Grade/Level: 12

The salary range for this position is 110,000.00 - 185,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.

Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older

  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).
