Job Description:
Role Summary/Purpose:
The VP, H&W Product Manager is responsible for development of the H&W data strategic initiative projects. The role requires strong project management experience and expert knowledge of implementation methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Scrum, SAFe, Hybrid), coupled with cross functional team building, influencing, communication and organization skills. The role will own our data strategy agile teams and is responsible for intake, prioritization and delivery of our data strategy priorities that include multiple internal data sources and third party data sources. The role will partner with multiple cross functional delivery partners to drive the successful completion of key initiatives that produce incremental business value, primarily as an enabler for our H&W strategic initiatives. This role will further evolve our “Data as a Product” applying a product mindset to our datasets, treating them as assets and ensuring our data has desirable qualities like security, governance, and trustworthiness so that it can be leveraged for value creation.

Essential Responsibilities:
Own the agile technical development of data deliverables and all aspects of coordinating builds across dedicated and enterprise matrixed teams to enable the H&W strategic initiatives and foundational investments that fuel the growth of the platform.
Partner with key stakeholders, including H&W client teams, solution architects, client technology leaders, and other stakeholders, to shape business requirements and provide ongoing communication through the implementation and delivery of data strategy programs that realize Synchrony’s vision for its data assets, achieving or exceeding quality, security, regulatory, and performance standards.
Create and write the features required to build the Epics, partnering with key stakeholders to deliver the business objectives.
Deliver business data for analytics and functional teams to enhance client experiences and initiatives that support corporate agility, standardization, cost efficiencies, and profitability.
Provide direct leadership and oversight for the data strategy Agile team execution, participating in Agile ceremonies of aligned Agile teams.
Partners with the enterprise teams (data architecture, data office, engineering and analytics) to implement sound data practices that protect our business.
Partners with technology counterparts to develop technical requirements that deliver on the business objectives.
Develop data as a business asset by embedding data management in all Strategic Initiatives.
Execute both strategic and tactical efforts related to the development of new data strategies across multiple system platforms that improve overall data quality and enriches data.
Lead intake and prioritization of all H&W data requests, balancing strategic priorities with client BAU requests, assessing capacity and maintaining an active pipeline in the development lifecycle. Process in partnership with cross-functional leaders to inform H&W data and Salesforce GTM priorities.
Supervises cross-functional project managers, product owners and business analysts.
Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree with 8 years' experience in Financial Services OR in lieu of degree, High School Diploma/GED and 12 years' experience in Financial Services
4 years demonstrated program management experience leading cross-functional program teams from initiation through to successful implementation of complex solutions, including system integrations and automation
4 years’ experience with projects requiring quantitative skills and ability to interpret data from multiple sources
Expert knowledge of implementation methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Scrum, SAFe, Hybrid)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills: business writing, developing pitches tailored to the audience, delivering presentations and leading meetings
Collaborative skill set with demonstrated ability to influence outcomes in a cross-functional, matrixed organization
Develops and maintains strong relationships across all levels in the org and is a self-starter that takes initiative to deliver results
Strong business acumen, able to bridge business objective with technology solutions
Strong financial and data analytical skills
Proficiency in Jira, Jira Align and Confluence
Excellent management, organizational and prioritization skills
Must be able to travel up to 10% of the time, as required
Desired Characteristics:
Advanced degree/MBA preferred
Experience with healthcare industry and healthcare data a plus
SAFe Agilist Certification
SAFe Product Manager Certification
Background in IT project management/development desired
SQL programming language knowledge desired
Knowledge of and proficiency in analytic tools like SAS, R, Python, & Tableau and a digital analytics tool (Adobe, Google Analytics). Advanced spreadsheet and presentation tools.
Independent, clear thinker who can seek out and identify key data themes and distill the findings into actionable strategies, tactics, and solutions
Significant knowledge and experience with data analytics
Familiarity with the Synchrony processes, systems and organization
Strong communicator that can summarize complex problems and projects into clear and succinct messages
High energy, self-driven
Lean, CAP, Facilitation, Workout experience
