Symetra has an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Assistant Vice President Strategic Solutions!

About the role

In this role, you will provide first level leadership and direction to Product Owners, Scrum Master, and delivery team. Works with key partners from Product/Distribution and Operations to prioritize and balance onboarding of partners, sales volume, additional products, changes to products and operational improvements to achieve efficiencies.

What you will do
  • Product Management responsibilities on initiatives, with the support of the executive sponsors, sets the vision for the planning and delivery of the roadmap.
  • Leads the business case, adherence to the CBA, tracking spend, identification of risks and issues, vendor management and scorecard.
  • Decision-maker for issues with guidance from Executive sponsors
  • Engages and communicates with key partners.
  • Works across the Enterprise to determine future roadmap including integration of other product lines; Life, Retirement, partnering with Benefits, acquisitions, new products, and services.
  • Owns the effort in determining strategy for policy conversions including business case and implementation. Works with team to develop Sprint scorecard including mandatory deliverables of all Scrum Masters and Project Managers aligned with the program. Removes roadblocks for team. Acquires funding for future deliveries.
  • Works with key partners from Product/Distribution and Operations to prioritize and balance onboarding of partners, sales volume, additional products, changes to products and operational enhancements to achieve efficiencies.
  • Main point of contact with Vendor communication and feedback.
  • Determines pace of project deliverables and options for how to move more efficiently.

Compensation

Salary Range: $133,500 - $222,400 plus eligibility for annual bonus program

Who you are
  • Project management certification e.g. Lean Six Sigma or similar, experience working in agile delivery teams preferred.
  • 2 years within financial services/insurance with 10 years in a leadership/managerial role preferred.
  • Comprehensive understanding of leading teams through system implementations or continuous improvements.
  • Strong communication skills-verbal and written.
  • Ability to negotiate for results including project prioritization and deadlines.
  • Competence in assessing risk for capacity of immediate team and other key collaborator when assessing key project deliverable(s)
