Position Summary: The Manufacturing Manager is responsible for coordinating, leading and providing development to the Compounding and Packaging team in all aspects of the manufacturing process, from planning and scheduling to continuous improvement of the operations, safety and quality results and cost and productivity management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

• Enforces strict adherence to HSE regulations, participates in regular safety inspections and ensures team members are properly trained.
• Participates in accident or incidents investigations focusing on preventive measures to avoid repeats.
• Secures the highest level of product quality, validating the manufacturing team is properly trained and performing to standard operating procedures.
• Collaborates with the Quality Department to implement corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives, focusing on trend analysis and root cause analysis.
• Manages and develops the production plans and schedules of the Scheduling Department to ensure optimal resource utilization (materials, people, machine).
• Supports the Sr Director of Manufacturing in the analysis of short- and long-term demand forecast identifying capacity constraints and proposing mitigation measures to meet the production plan.
• Monitors and controls production costs: material variance report, overtime report and overhead expenses, as well as identifies areas of improvement and personally leads kaizen events to remove waste from the manufacturing floor.
• Expert on the manufacturing processes, working in coordination with key stakeholders to find process optimization (examples include sanitation, changeovers, production, training, metrics reporting, OEE) to boost productivity results.
• Leads and motivates the production staff, as well as hires and train employees and establishes performance goals in alignment with those of the Department and Swiss American, while providing regular feedback to keep employees accountable and engaged so we can foster a positive work environment.

• Bachelor’s Degree required, Master's degree (M. A.) or equivalent preferred in relevant field;
• 3-6 years related experience and or equivalent combination of education and experience 
• Proven leadership experience in a manufacturing manager role specific to compounding and packaging but not limited as a contract manufacturer
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification desired
• Proficient in data analysis and problem solving
