Swine & Sons is a casual restaurant serving Southern-inspired sandwiches, burgers, salads, and bowls, as well as homemade sides, snacks, and desserts. Chef/owners Rhys and Alexia Gawlak opened the first Swine & Sons location in Winter Park in 2015. The award-winning chef/owners are CIA-graduates who bring over 25 years each of casual and upscale dining experience to the brand. Their food has been featured in Edible Orlando, Orlando Magazine, the Orlando Sentinel, the Orlando Weekly, been awarded a Michelin Bib Gourmand, and the chefs have been featured on the Food Network as champions on Guy’s Grocery Games.

Location Manager Job Duties

We are looking for a motivated person to oversee daily operations during designated shifts, supervise employees, and ensure that our customers receive outstanding service and delicious food. The Manager’s responsibilities include Monitoring the overall dining experience to ensure consistency in service quality, food presentation, and adherence to hygiene and safety standards, creating a daily shift schedule, dealing with no-shows, ensuring food is prepared to chef or restaurant manager’s standards, delegating tasks, handling cash up (as needed), and reporting any issues to the Chef/Owners. They play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth functioning of the business and creating a positive customer experience.

To be successful as a Manager, you should be able to guide a team of people and ensure that all duties are performed accurately. Ultimately, a top Location Manager should be able to ensure smooth and efficient workflows in both FOH and BOH. The Location Manager should be able to perform all line cooks duties and basic front of house duties to ensure a flawless service.

Manager Responsibilities:

  • Supervising employees, assigning duties, and creating a daily shift schedule while keeping labor cost on track.
  • Monitoring team performance and ensuring duties are performed efficiently.
  • Reporting any issues that arise during the shift to Chef/Owners.
  • Managing employee requests and transgressions.
  • Ordering of food and dry good products to keep the restaurant stocked while keeping food and paper goods costs on track.
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies, health, and safety standards.
  • Coaching team members and training new staff.
  • Handling customer issues and employee disputes.
  • Ensuring clean and organized working spaces. This includes following cleaning lists, procedures and holding the staff as well as themselves accountable.
  • Overseeing cash management procedures, including cash register operations, cash reconciliation, and ensuring accuracy in financial transactions.
  • Interacting with guests to ensure their satisfaction, addressing any special requests or dietary restrictions
  • Facilitating smooth FOH operations by assisting guests with their needs and FOH staff with their duties when applicable

Manager Requirements:

  • High school diploma/GED. 2 or 4 year culinary degree is a plus.
  • ServeSafe Food Handler’s Management Certificate with score of 85% or higher.
  • Previous 1 years experience in a management position
  • Previous 1 ordering in a high volume restaurant.
  • Experience creating daily shift schedules.
  • Basic computer skills, including email, word processing, and spreadsheet software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Genuine love of hospitality and desire to please guests.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Confident problem-solver.
  • Team player.
  • The ability to read and speak English to interact with employees, vendors, and clients.
  • The strength to stand and walk for up to 12 hours a day to assist customers and employees with all restaurant duties - from helping to unload the delivery truck to serving customers during rush hour.
  • The ability to lift boxes up to 50-lbs, including cases of frozen foods wine and other heavy items – like chairs and tables.
  • The ability to tolerate temperature extremes and fluctuations - both hot (kitchen, outdoor area) and cold (walk-in cooler) throughout each day.
