Job Description: 

Swift Straw is looking for a Tractor Operator/Laborer to operate and maintain a tractor to perform mowing, blowing, blading, and other activities. They will help coordinate semi-trailers and perform yard and office upkeepas well.The role will be based out of Swift Straw’s Quincy, Florida (Telogia Run Tract) office.

As a Tractor Operator/Laborer, you will primarily be expected to operate and maintain a tractor, bush hog, sprayer and other implements in the fields. When needed, you will be expected to help organize and inventory empty and full trailers of straw andhelp keep the office and compound area around shop clean and organized. This position will report to the Production Manager and will be held responsible for various metrics such as stands mowed, roads graded. maintenance records, damage reports, etc.

Responsibilities:

• Operating a tractor and implements safely to achieve annual targets.

• Maintain and repair tractors and implements to achieve annual targets.
• Use hand and power tools to enhance operational efficiency.
• Report acreage, herbicide use, preventative maintenance, and breakdowns accurately and timely. 

Qualifications:

• Reliable transportation.
• 2 years experience tractor and implement operation.
• 2 years experience in general maintenance and upkeep of tractor and implements.
• Valid and active driver license
• Cell phone required.
• Knowledge of operating a tractor and bush hog, and willingness to learn new implements.
• Knowledge of tractors and implement maintenance and willingness to learn.
• Knowledge of basic hand tools and some power tools, etc.
• Must be physically able to stand, stoop, or operate equipment 8-10 hours per day.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds regularly.
• Must be able to move over uneven terrain and confined spaces.
• Must be able to work in hot, cold, and rainy weather.
• Must be able to wear proper PPE as required.
• Ability to obtain Med Card (company paid doctor visit) for semi-truck farm operations a plus.
