The Shift: 2pm - 10:30pm

Wage Range: $23.50 - $32 DOE

The Job:

The Mogul Cook is responsible for owning and managing the entire candy “cooking” process in a safe, compliant, productive, timely and high-quality manner. This includes, but is not limited to, moving raw materials into the work area using and electric or manual pallet jack, following written work orders, ensuring the integrity and quality of the process, as well as cooking, cleaning and safety procedures, manually batching ingredients, maintaining inventory and other key data in computer systems, utilizing technology to operate computer-based equipment, performing sensory testing and other quality checks to ensure product is in line with quality specifications, effectively partnering and communicating regularly with co-workers, supervisors and other staff members and supporting the overall operation as needed/performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Has Machine Operator or other immediately relevant experience

o Food manufacturing experience strongly preferred; candy industry experience is a huge plus

o Integrates sanitation and maintenance for optimum performance

• Is able to safely meet the physical demands of the position, including, but not limited to the following: must be able to lift approximately 50 pounds on a regular basis as well as pulling, pushing, bending, carrying and standing for long periods of time

• Has a high respect and appreciation for the elevated responsibility of crafting food including safety, food safety, quality/cleanliness standards and procedures

• Uses attention to detail to inspect product against quality & compliance standards, removes product that is out of spec and employs judgment to determine when to notify the proper authority of observed quality deviations

• Possesses in depth knowledge of the raw materials, allergens, cross-contamination, company processes and procedures and contributes to Sweet’s continuous improvement efforts

• Can effectively follow a time sensitive production schedule, work orders and various procedures

• Works well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment

• Trains and mentors new team members when needed

• Is a consistent “team-player” treating everyone with respect and professionalism

• Can effectively communicate in person and via radio with co-workers, supervisors and other staff members

• Is able track, record and enter data using varied formats (paper, white board, computer, iPad)

• Effectively incorporates basic math as well as advanced troubleshooting and reasoning skills into their daily work

• Possesses the ability to effectively lead and motivate peers
