Job Summary: SCA maintains a fleet of sweepers, dump trucks, flatbed trucks, pickup trucks, trailers, attenuators, and various other support equipment. This Mechanic position is an experienced mechanic position with opportunities for advancement.

Job Responsibilities:
- Consulting and reading work orders to evaluate the tasks required.
- Preparing work plans after fully scoping out the issues
- Running diagnostic tests on diesel engines and interpreting the results to offer suitable solutions.
- Inspecting vehicle systems, including suspensions, steering and exhausts
- Repairing or replacing vehicle transmissions, brakes, engines and other associated parts
- Conducting field visits/roadside repairs in the case of an emergency or sudden breakdown
- Test driving repaired vehicles to gauge their performance.
- Completing oil changes, wheel balancing, alignment, and brake checks around PM Structure
- Maintaining records of parts inventory and serviced vehicles
- 3-5 years of mechanic experience and trade school completion, Required
- Toolbox and basic hand tools, Required
- ASE Certification, Preferred
- A valid chauffeur license, Required
- Valid DOT Med Card, Required
- Advanced knowledge of vehicles, their electrical system and the mechanisms of a diesel or gasoline engine
- In-depth knowledge of diesel engine components and operational mechanisms
- Superior knowledge of maintenance tools and repair equipment
- Comfortable using mechanical and electrical power tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Keen attention to detail
- Basic knowledge of computer systems and other relevant electronics
- Proficiency in the use of diesel engine diagnostic software
- Good interpersonal skills
- Effective collaboration and communication skills
- Consistent attendance, Required.
- Use all required PPE and work safely
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work a flexible schedule, including overtime on occasion
- Work in high noise environments with exposure to vibration and fumes
- Active, physical work occasionally involving lifting 50 lbs. Frequently involves carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, reaching and standing.
