Pharmacy Technician (Retail Pharmacy)

We are seeking a Pharmacy Technician to:

• Join our world-class team of doctors, nurses and other health care professionals in providing everything from preventive health care to highly specialized programs.
• Provide quality care in a compassionate patient- and family- centered environment.
• Assist the Pharmacist in providing service to all areas of the SwedishAmerican Hospital.
• Perform technical duties necessary to prepare and dispense medications.
• Assist customers in the pharmacy, collect payment and deliver outpatient medications to inpatients.
• Ensure pharmacy insurance claims are correctly adjudicated through the computer system for reimbursement by working with patients and calling insurance companies to address issues.
• Participate in continuous quality improvement activities and educational experiences in support of departmental philosophy and objectives, as well as Health System initiatives.

Experience/Skills:

• Good interpersonal, organizational and critical decision-making skills required.
• Proficiency and ability to use a computer and a variety of common office equipment.
• Ability to effectively communicate and develop collaborative working relationships with patients, medical staff and the public.
• Successful completion of annual clinical, age and job specific competencies and skill verification tools required.

Licenses and Certifications:

• Current licensure from State of Illinois.
• Pharmacy Technician Certification or must obtain certification within one year of hire.

Physical Requirements:
Medium: Ability to lift up to 15 pounds maximum.
Pay:
