Job Description: EDUCATION: HS Diploma: HS Diploma or GED CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE: REEGT-Registered Electroencephalographic/Neurodiagnostic Technologist BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider TYPICAL EXPERIENCE: 1-year recent relevant experience. SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: In-depth knowledge of neurodiagnostic services, mechanics, and equipment. Basic functional neuroanatomy and neurophysiology relevant to EEG and/or EMG Ability to interpret a variety of data and instructions, furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Knowledge of electrographic correlates of clinical conditions such as generalized tonic-clonic seizures, complex partial seizures, and nonepileptic events. Knowledge of medical terminology and accepted abbreviations in neurodiagnostics, basic electricity and electronic concepts of EEG and/or EMG equipment, as well as anatomical correlation of EEG waveforms. Capable of evaluating EEG and/or EMG test results as well as a basic understanding of human anatomy, physiology, chemistry, and medical terminology. Possess written and verbal communications skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences, including non-medical people. Well-developed time management and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize assignments and work within standardized operating procedures and scientific methods to achieve objectives and meet deadline.
