Sutter Metals is Hiring an Excavator Operator Near Tacoma, WA

Sutter Metals is a busy metal recycling facility located in Tacoma, WA and is currently looking for an experienced heavy equipment operator to control/operate a wheeled excavator with shear attachments. This position is for our 2nd shift. The hours are 1:30pm-10pm, Monday thru Friday. This position reports directly to the Operations Manager.

POSITION DETAILS:

  • Safely operate wheeled-excavator and attachments such as a shear, to process metal.
  • Daily self-inspection of equipment prior to operating, and communication with Operations Manager Mechanic, as needed.
  • Using knowledge of metal grades and packages to advise customers supporting staff (training provided).

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least 2 years of excavator operating experience.
  • Experience with metal recycling preferred
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
